Reasons to be worried.
I found today that in 2016 a teacher with Chimacum School District filed a police assault report against my son with the sheriff for him supposedly punching her in the arm. Now him punching the teacher was not OK and we knew about that and had meetings with the school, but the school never told us about the police report and he was a minor (note she said no bruises or nothing either), at the time he had just turned 11 years old. Things like this haunt ...
Does anyone know of any laws that state how long a child in school can go without a break / recess?
Today my son and a few others got detention (with virtually no notice to parents) keeping them at school until 3.15pm. However I found out that they have lunch and recess between 10.35 and 11.05am, so with today's detention they went more than 4 hours without a break.
When I went to school we had the same 6 and a half hour day, but we had a 15 minute morning break, an hour for lunch and a 15 minute afternoon break, so work wise our school day was an hour shorter, but we were not rated a poor 4 out of 10 school like some of the Chimacum ones.
