Any day is a great day for "Ice Cream"- Playin' Beachcomber TONIGHT- 5/27, for the first time since 2005! The very Beachcomber in South Mission Beach where I got my solo career start back in 2000. The same 'Comber where I wrote and recorded the song 'Comber Bound, which is still played as the closing song EVERY night since 2002! 2 sets , following Team Trivia. Come on down and show us your brain for a challenging game of trivia starting at 7:30pm. Great prizes and ME, around 9:30pm!

I'd like to thank KISS' recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for reminding me of my babysitter Traci. I first laid eyes on her when my parents hired her to watch me while they went to see Elton John in concert. I was 7 years old and pissed they weren't taking me with them. Then the doorbell rang and in walked a beautiful 14 year-old with a stack of records by a band I had never heard before. I said Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, secretly forgave my parents and she spent the rest of the night, rocking me to sleep. I can confirm that the saying is true, "You never forget your first KISS!" woensdag 9 april om 19:00 in PDT- When I was 5 years old, Loudon Wainwright III had a song that was all over the radio called “Dead Skunk”. The tag at the end of the chorus went, “Dead skunk in the middle of the road, stinking to high heaven!” I must’ve drove my parents crazy singing that song over and over again. Every time I see a skunk I think of that song (and cartoon character Pepe Le Pew, of course). You never forget that smell, especially when your dog gets sprayed. REDFORD!!!! Funny how sometimes I’ll be standing in a crowd somewhere, and I start to get a whiff of that familiar scent and think to myself, “I smell a skunk……..wait a minute………skunks don’t go to concerts!”

High school never scared me as a student. I had a blast! Returning to my alma mater Clairemont High, which inspired the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" for the first time as an adult, made me a little nervous though. I ...was pretty sure my usual repertoire of "Sesame Street" & "I'm A Believer" wasn't going to go over as well as it does with the elementary school kids I'm used to playing for. High school kids think they're the coolest and KNOW EVERYTHING! Knowing I was up against the scrutiny of these future rulers who were thinking to themselves, "What do these old people got?!", we cut them off at the pass with a blazing set from the full band and a "Dog Gone" country song with a lyrical line in it that states, "I bet you still find time to stop and lick your balls." They clapped and cheered. We packed up our gear and went around the corner for some BBQ and beer! Everything cool? Cool. Meer weergeven
