Someone had a lazy look around TripAdvisor methinks. There's no emoticon for underwhelmed or bemused so you'll have to settle for "meh". How about the "before you die tour" over Christmas?
Waterford and the wider South East is angry about the lack of cardiac services. In this weekend’s The Irish Times and on irishtimes.com Harry McGee investigates on why the region feels ignored and what it wants done about it.
A GRAND DAY OUT. A few weeks ago I was commissioned to draw a family tree for presentation to Jane O'Meara Sanders and her husband the great Bernie Sanders. J...ane, whose origins are 100% Irish, has been actively researching her family history for many years. Caroline and I were delighted and honoured to meet with Jane and Bernie in Dublin on Sunday last (4th June) where we all passed an enjoyable couple of hours going through the family tree and discussing their origins in Ireland and Poland, all of which was filmed for a later possible project. My colleague at Accredited Genealogists Ireland John Grenham, who was also present, carried out the research (additional to Jane's). Later in the evening we were invited to a very powerful and passionately delivered Audience with Bernie Sanders at the Bord Gais Theatre. My thanks to David McWilliams and Sian Smyth of the Dalkey Book Festival.
As a personal present to Bernie I gave him a copy of my granduncle Peter O'Connor's memoirs. Peter was a veteran of the Spanish Civil War and, like Bernie, a commited Socialist and Anti-Fascist fighter. The gesture was appreciated.
This Thursday will be our 16th "Holy Thursday Tour".
It will also probably be our last.
As you know it is expected that the ban on Good Friday drinking will end this year, making the mad scramble to get pints in before 12 o clock redundant from next year....
This is your last opportunity to experience the madness that is the HTT..
