Starting Saturday June 25 at 6am, Groat Road will be totally closed to accommodate removal of access decking materials over the 102 Avenue over Groat Road bridge replacement project. Groat Road is expected to reopen to traffic the same day at 8pm Saturday June 25.

The multi-use trail on the west side of Groat Road will also be closed from north of Government House Park to south of 107 Avenue from 6am to 8pm June 25.

The removal is weather-dependent and may be postponed if req...uired. Trail users are advised that during construction season trails in this area may be closed at any time and may remain closed until work is completed.

In collaboration with the Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 First Nations, we invite all members of living on Treaty No. 6 territory to participate in the Treaty No. 6 Art Contest! This year the contest theme represents the original terms of the treaty, “As long as the sun shines, grass grows, and rivers flow”. Two artworks that represent this year’s theme will be given an honorarium of $500 and then given as gifts to the Grand Chief and the Mayor.

Submissions run until August 5 at 11pm. Details at edmonton.ca/treaty6.

The Muttart Conservatory Art Wall pays tribute to Fort McMurray this month with the art of Trish McIsaac. Years ago, McIsaac was impressed by the brilliant colours and natural renewal in an area near Fort McMurray that had been swept by a forest fire the year before. The Conservatory is proud to display the series of paintings this inspired, Memories of Magenta. These paintings can be seen until June 24.

The Art Wall is in the Conservatory's Centre Court and exhibits change t...hroughout the year. The call for 2017 submission is open now.
