Compost Time

In commemoration of Earth Day, the City of Orange and CR&R Environmental Services will be providing two free bags of compost to Orange residential solid waste customers this Saturday, April 21, 8 am to 10 am, or until we run out of compost.

You can pick-up your compost at the Orange City Hall parking lot, 300 E. Chapman Ave. Please bring the coupon that was sent to you in your March residential CR&R bill.

Due to the high demand and limited supply, we will distribute only two bags per person, per coupon, while supplies last.

Also, please be aware that the Spring issue of our quarterly publication, Our Orange, has the wrong date printed for the compost event. We apologize for any confusion this may cause.

For more information, please call our Public Works Department at (714) 744-5525.

On Another Level

Concrete pouring is well underway for the second sub-level of the 611-space Old Towne Metrolink Parking Structure, and soon the underground areas will be completely covered. Rebar for more concrete pillars is now climbing towards the second story, which will top out at three levels.

As a reminder, temporary closures of the southbound lane on Lemon St. are likely during the next few months, Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm, as needed.
