  1. On Saturday May 3, 2014 at 7:30 am at Pass-A-Grille Beach we will be doing a Memorial walk in honor of Barbie Kehrhahn Brummette. Barbie loved Jesus, she loved her global church family and she loved sharing the Gospel by doing missions wor...k all around the world. This memorial walk will benefit those going on our In-Country Missions trip to Waterproof, LA in the Mississippi Delta. The cost is $25 to walk and includes a Barefoot for Barbie commemorative T-shirt. All of the proceeds will go to help get our team to Waterproof, LA in July. We want to honor Barbie's life and legacy of loving and giving.Meer weergeven

    • If some of you haven't heard, last Wednesday I was offered a position with CVS, as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, which is really cool because that is what I am going to school for and will be finished this November. It is a Part-Time job and it could go full-time at some point. I start this coming Monday. Thank you everyone that prayed for me for the right job. It came along!

As Tina Goff and I pulled into Gulf Coast Community Church for Barbie Kehrhahn Brummette service I was overcome with PRIDE at the outpouring of love and support my church represents. The number of people who volunteered their time to help with parking, greet people, hand out programs or provide a hug was just plain awesome! The praise and worship team gave an awesome testimony to who Barbie was and the large number of church family that was present to celebrate her life showed how much she was loved. Listening to the music I imagined Barbie dancing in the light with outstretched arms, rejoicing in her new body and praising God for her amazing life. Thank you Pastor Mike Conaway for the example you set and for the humility in which you do it. Xo

"Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest. Heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul." When you watched Barbie Kehrhahn Brummette play the violoin you could not help but be moved. With her eyes closed she put her body into what she played all while balancing on bare feet. I photographed her often during our church events because she drew me in. The way her blond messy hair gave off a halo effect, how her dark mascared eyes and pale lips completed her hippy chick outfits always made me feel comfortable in her presense. Her love of the lord and of her little and big Jerry and the smile she ALWAYS bore only exemplified the woman she was....beautiful. I am deeply saddened by her passing for the world is missing out on an incredible person. They say some walk with Jesus...I know she did and for that I am ever thankful for having been touched by her. May you be at peace Barbie and know how deeply you were loved on earth and in heaven.

  4. I was preaching our vision this morning in the Servant's Service telling a real life story of COAH's impact on the precious people of our city. Just as I got to the part about God's divine intersection between a middle school teacher from COAH, a mother being released from a Re-entry program who attended COAH while in the program and a middle school student in the teacher's class who didn't know ...her teacher and her mother went to COAH together. A lady in the third row with tears of joy running down her face starts waving her hands at me and saying, "That's me, That's me! You are telling my story!" It really was her! She had been released from the program and she said she found a permanent home and a church family at COAH! Glory to God forever! #EveryMemberisaMissionaryMeer weergeven

  6. Our Planted series continues this Sunday with a message entitled Planted Together. The truth of this message was so very evident this past week. Tomorrow we explore what it means to do life with and without Christ and with and without each other. I can't imagine what it would have been like for some very special people this past week without Jesus and a church family. Come join us this weekend at City on a Hill Church where everyone is welcome, needed and changed. Come out and Invite someone they may need it more than you know. We meet inside the Willis S Johns Rec. Ctr. Located at 6635 Dr. MLK Jr. St. N. Service begins at 10:30 am. New service times begin April 6, 2014.

  8. Pastor Mike Conaway and the church family of City on a Hill Church would like to say a special thank you to Pastor Jerry Cisar and the church family of Gulfcoast Community Church for sharing your facilities with us so that we can honor the ...life and legacy of one of our own. Your generosity speaks volumes to the Body of Christ and the whole of our city. We called and you responded without hesitation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

1 John 3:11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

  15. Just put the finishing touches on this Sunday's message. I am so excited to share it. I just know people's lives are going to be changed. I know those spiritually lost are going to be found. I know those spiritually wandering are going ...to be restored and find a home, disciples will be made and it will inspire missionaries to go into every culture in our city. Be sure to invite someone and bring them to this week's service. Offer pick them up and then take them to lunch afterwards. I already invited my cable guy! Pray and ask God to give you three opportunities to invite people to City on a Hill this weekend. Service begins inside the Willis S. Johns Recreation Center located at 6635 Dr. MLK Jr. St. North at 10:30 am. New service times begin April 6, 2014. Everyone is wanted, welcome and invited!Meer weergeven

  20. I have to share this story with everyone. Before service today a precious lady came up to share her story with me. She has cancer in four different places in her body and she goes for chemo regularly. She heard the message last week about Attend One Serve One and she so wanted to but her illness prevents her from making a commitment. She said she was so very sad because she loves God and her c...hurch family. Tuesday she went for her chemo and while there a elderly lady struck up a conversation with her. When the elderly lady heard that this precious lady had cancer in 4 places she asked her, "How do you deal with it?" Right then the lady told me she realized what her mission and ministry was and she began to share Christ's power and hope with the lady and the others in the room and invited her to church. She realized she is a missionary in that chemo treatment room and that God can and is using her powerfully! Glory to God forever!Meer weergeven
