Blanquette de Veau - is a French veal ragout in which neither the veal nor the butter is browned in the cooking process. To refrain from browning meat and fat in this way, is to cook them en blanquette. Blanquette is the French term for a ragout of white meat (veal, lamb or poultry) cooked in a white stock or water with aromatic flavorings.

Cock a Leekie Soup
Cock-a-leekie soup is a Scottish soup dish consisting of leeks and peppered chicken stock, often thickened with rice, or sometimes barley. The original recipe added prunes during cooking, and traditionalists still garnish with a julienne of prunes.
Creamy Potato Soup
This is a simple, cheap and the perfect meal when paired with some homemade bread.
Caraway Bread Sticks
This is a very popular appetizer that goes very well as a snack, along with a beer. Check it out at: http://www.claudiashomecooking.com/caraway-bread-sticks/
Sour Cheery Cake
Sour cherries are one of my favorite fruit. They are fragile and easily perishable therefore they are hard to find fresh here in the USA. They can be found preserved in light syrup instead. Here is a popular Romanian summer dessert that is fluffy, light and refreshing, just like the sour cherries themselves. Here I used preserved sour cherries, fresh cherries would have been marvelous if I had them.
Ayran - is a one of the most refreshing drinks I ever had. It is Turkey's national drink and it is mainly made of yoghurt and salt, very easy to make.

Lava Cake
The legend goes that this great dessert has been discovered by a French cook who did not leave the cake to cook long enough in the oven. When cutting it, he realized that the interior was like a volcano lava hence the name of the cake. It is fast, easy and your guests will be impressed .

Ukrainian Borsch
Recently we had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, the Russian House in Austin. I just loved their borsch and I decided to make it immediately.
Ricotta Doughnuts (Papanasi)
This is a very popular desert in Romania. Any restaurant serving Romanian food will have them on the menu. They are easy to make and quite versatile since the topping can be any favorite jam or fruit preserve. I made this in the morning and served them for breakfast. My son looked at them skeptical at the beginning, then he absolutely loved them. As you see in the picture, even Figaro the cat thought they are simply irresistible.

Sesame Bread Rolls
One of the most loved and used appliances in my kitchen is the bread maker. I love bread hence I use the bread maker at least once a week, typically on the weekends when I have more time to cook. Today I made sesame bread rolls to the enchantment of my eaters.

- My dear Claudia, When I look to you, you don't look like a cook. A c...ook is fat and much older then you. When I look to your dishes... yumy, yumy, yumy. So because of this, I have a big dilemma. So slim, so young and so chef? This is incredible! See More
