We had a lovely time hosting the Material Resonances: Louise K Wilson & Stephen Felmingham workshop for Somerset Art Works last week. This was part of their Prospectus programme - a pilot project to create an alternative form of art school for the dispersed art community of Somerset. http://somersetartworks.org.uk/prospectus2017/

There was a real sense of connecting through making and sharing in a learned experience. Thanks to Jon England and Fiona Hingston for organising.

We are hosting this workshop on Saturday 28th October - join us for a day of talks, walks and conversations with members of Land2 . Part of the Prospectus programme, supported by Somerset Art Works

Mixing old with new, our site here at Clayhill is housed in a collection of old farm buildings. Responding to the old granary, the milking parlour and cattle sheds, we have celebrated its past whilst introducing a modern interpretation.

Makers & Tools is a collaborative making project exploring the relationship between makers and their tools.

The project connects six emerging craft makers, who undertook a non-verbal conversation through an exchange of objects.

Join us on Friday 6th October for drinks and Q&A with the makers involved.

...

The exhibition and event hopes to open up the conversation to a wider audience and asks ’What happens if a maker doesn’t choose her tools? What if she is gifted a tool crafted by another maker? What effect does this seemingly benign intervention have on her making process, and what possibilities does this allow?’

Makers & Tools is an ongoing project coordinated by Melody Vaughan for more details visit the project website: makersandtoolsproject.wordpress.com
