Extremely frustrated. I am re-doing bathrooms with Elfa gliders (which I have in the kitchen and love). No store near me any more, so made arrangements to pick up an order while on a visit to family.... Only 1/2 of order was available for pickup at time promised. Called store next day and made arrangements for expedited shipping (3-4 business days) of missing items. That was 12 days ago--and nothing has happened. Emails with customer service and call to store have been cordial, telling me that it is still being prepared for shipping--and that items are not on back order. Nobody seems to know what is causing delay, where order is, etc. And I am living with chaos of supplies, medicines, etc. in boxes and impossible to find easily. The gliders may be wonderful--but if I don't have all the parts for installation, wonderful is useless. See More

I just had my master closet over-hauled with Elfa. It is absolutely amazing how much more space I have after redesigning this space. I did end up ordering one more shelf than I needed to, but that's o...n me. I didn't account for the length of the hubs pants when designing that section. A huge thank you to Laurie T who helped me design my space.

Also, my recommendation, save the time and hassle and pay for someone to install a larger job. Mike had my whole closet up in 2 hours!! Yeah, me and the hubby could have done it ourselves, but it would have taken easily twice as along.

Yes, everything that was in the closet before is in the closet after. In case your wondering if I "thinned out" any of the clothing.

I am writing to discuss my recent experience with The Container Store and how incredibly upset and disappointed I am at their service. I placed an online order of two storage boxes that were from the ...Holiday Season on January 9th. My order was placed, and I got a confirmation email. Then I waited and waited to hear when it shipped, and I never got another email. I called the company on January 18th (9 days later) and asked why my order had not shipped. I talked to someone who said it "must have been back ordered" but there was no email or notification telling me that. But then she said they had the order fulfilled and it should ship in the next day or two. I got an email confirming that my items had shipped on January 21st. It is now January 27th and I have not received anything. So I called again, and spoke to someone who had to put me on hold for 20 minutes, just to come back and tell me that the order got lost somewhere, and the Fed Ex facility never received it. And since it was seasonal, I can't get another one - it's just gone. She said they will refund my money, but that's not the point. I'm upset because of the way this company handled this situation, not communicating with their customers when an item is back ordered and will take longer than promised (5-7 business days). Emailing me that something has shipped when it never got delivered to Fed Ex, and then when I called and found all of this out, I asked to speak to a supervisor TWICE, and was told they were all too busy. What an absolutely terrible experience with a company. I was offered a $20 gift card to "soften the negative experience" but I turned it down because I have no desire to ever shop with this company again if this is how they do business. I would appreciate a response from someone at the company owning up to your mistakes and poor treatment. See More

Used to love your store but no more. One of the things that's made me a Container Store shopper for 20+ years in the Dallas area is the extensive selection of mailing boxes that your stores offer. Whe...n coming to your stores to buy more boxes than I can count over the years, I've also bought lots of seriously more expensive items while there. But no more. Yesterday, I went to your Southlake, TX, store and found that that the two aisles of boxes had been shrunk to a couple of shelves with just a few sizes. When I asked where the rest of the boxes were, the sales guy said that 10 days ago, almost all of the boxes were taken out and he shrugged his shoulder like he could care less. Your are a "container" store. Boxes are containers and are staple needs for customers. I hope you'll restore the shipping box area to its original size/scope w/o delay. Until then, I'll be shopping at Amazon and Wal-Mart for boxes and other things you carry while I'm there. Most of the storage stuff you sell can be purchased on Amazon or Wal-Mart a lot cheaper. So taking away staples like shipping boxes seems rather short-sighted unless your goal is to go the way of other retailers--out of business. See More

Just spent $$$ and hours redoing my pantry with their Elfa system. The slider drawers that hold canned goods are dangerous and need to be recalled. They are flimsy and the sliders do not lock into pla...ce to hold the drawer in place when it is extended. I just had one come out and and a bunch of canned goods crushing down on my foot. Even wearing a shoe I got some bruising. Imagine had I been barefoot or a child. Recall these immediately and replace with ones that lock into the glider!!!They could seriously injure a child that opens them. Pics and video attached. See More

Store is nice, staff is good, installation was excellent BUT I had 3 rods for my new closet on back order and they are already 10 days late. They were promised on 2 subsequent dates and still have no...t arrived. Closet was installed without them but installer has to return to cut the rods when they finally arrive. Do NOT make an install appointment until you have all the parts you ordered in your hands. Or you will have clothes with no place to hang them. No one has given me an explanation as to why the rods are still on backorder. And i have no idea when they will be in. See More

I like the wide range of items offered at the container store, but that is where it ends. Customer service seems to be nonexistent. I purchased a small elfa storage system. Making my selection proved ...challenging because there were no associates available to assist me with selecting the appropriate parts, and no sign indicating what I might need, either. When I asked the woman at the checkout if there were available assembly instructions she said my only option was to watch a video. Well, call me old-fashioned, but I would rather just use simple printed instructions.
The elfa system appears to be their signature line. Well, it stinks. The drawers in the unit I purchased do not stay securely in the drawer tracks, so at least one side sags down constantly. It just seems that the width of the drawer tracks is inadequate to support the weight of full drawers. An expensive piece of junk! I might return to the container store for things like baskets and other basic items, but I will never buy another item from the elfa line.

What's the deal with 2017 gift wrap?
I always buy our Christmas gift wrap from The Container Store.
Purchased five rolls due to the "Buy four and get the fifth one free."...
Wrapping gifts and not a single roll of the gift wrap has the grid pattern on the back!!!!!
This is the primary reason I go out of my way to purchase gift wrap from the Container Store.

Daniel came early on Thursday and worked diligently ALL DAY--until about 7PM doing a FABULOUS job of 5 closets in my newly renovated condo. I cannot say enough about Daniel's work and his professiona...l, friendly manner. The Container Store followed up on Friday to make sure that I was satisfied with the work performed.

I have been a devotee of Elfa for 15 years now and in all of the 6 condos I've owned during that time Elfa and their install department are the best choice for people who want to maximize their storage, want a professional installation and care about the aesthetics of the finished product. I highly recommend both them and their installers.

I'm a dedicated Container Store shopper, but I am growing weary of the constant sales pitch at checkout. Today, I waited in the checkout line for a very long time while the sole customer in front of m...e purchased a few items. When I reached the cashier, I began to understand why it had taken so long for that customer to complete his transaction. I was pitched two opportunities to register with the store for perks and such, and solicited once for a charitable contribution. Fair warning: if you drive me to shop online, I'm likely going to find your items cheaper at another vendor. The in-store experience has become quite painful. See More

I am very annoyed that three days after purchasing 3 pieces of furniture on Oct 29 - before which I specifically asked if there were any upcoming sales - I get a notice saying that I can get 15% off a...ny purchase during November. I would have gladly waited three days to make my purchase. I tried to contact the customer service telephone number which disconnected me after I had held on for 16 minutes. I wrote a private message to which I received no response. I did not remove the furniture from its packaging and will gladly return them to the Container Store for a full refund - and will never make any future purchases. If they give me the 15% credit without my having to do the lifting and hauling, I'd consider making a return purchase. Just beware that there is ZERO customer service here. See More

4 business days in and my package does not even have a label yet - and there 3-7 MORE business days I will have to wait for delivery after they can get a lable for it. When I called I was told they h...ad a lot of orders to fill... isn't that what you DO? In my mind I see everything all at once, which keeps me anxious. What I didn't realize is how badly my brain was craving more organization. I love this place for helping me organize simple things that... drive me crazy like my underwear draw! LOL My mother used to always say: "everything has a place and all things in it's place". Due to my travels in the past I have visited many of store throughout this country. I truly enjoyed shopping your stores, but being from South Carolina there isn’t any stores around. I would love for ...you company to expand to this great state. Sure you have website, but prefer to physical buy items that your company sales. Please, put this suggestion into consideration. I am a new customer with The Container Store and will certainly remain a customer for my needs that they have products for. The Customer Service that I have been party to has been excellent! They ar...e friendly and very customer satisfaction oriented. The products that I have purchased are of very high quality and the price value is excellent. My only regret is that they do not have a "bricks & mortar" location convenient to my location. I highly recommend this organization based on my experiences with them to date. See More

Bought two desks at the Houston store on Westheimer and when I showed up to pick them up the order was not pulled.

When they did pull the order they only pulled one desk. I mentioned that the order ...didn't look correct. They went back and pulled the remainder of the order. Upon returning home they did not include the drawers or the crossbars required to assemble the shelving.

Nobody went through the list to check it. What a joke. This is why Amazon is winning.

The closet designers for both TCS Closets and Elfa are fir...st rate. We have lots and lots of boxes, along with many other quality products. I love The Container Store products but the last 3 times I've been in the store, the wait time to check out has been unacceptably long. The most recent time I went in, there were 4 people in line and... one cashier..no one else available. After waiting 5 minutes while 1 person checked out, I left and I won't go back. Amazon doesn't have quite the product selection but at least I don't wait in line. See More

The San Francisco store has the WORST customer service ever! We ordered an ELFA bookcase and were told it would be ready on a certain day and then received a call the same day saying it would take ano...ther week because a piece was missing (box marked with incorrect product). Then, the entire bookcase set was supposed to be delivered - they only delivered the missing piece that caused the delay instead of the whole set. We spoke to 3 different people at the store including the manager and asked them to deliver the rest of the set as we had requested and they told us they wouldn't deliver it but would pay a taxi for us to waste our time going back and forth and picking it up at the store ourselves. Seriously? A good store and a good manager would have corrected the order and had it delivered from the warehouse OR they would have grabbed the items from the store and hopped in a cab themselves to deliver it since it was a major purchase and our 3rd Elfa shelving unit. Oh and the cab ride was the ride from hell with a rude driver who failed to give the correct change but drove off while screaming profanities before we could ask for the rest of our change. Thank you for the experience from hell. From now on we'll do our shopping elsewhere. We suggest you train your SF staff in how to provide good customer service. See More
