With December almost upon us, here's a reminder of the upcoming Christmas services. 🎄 (That's not to say we won't do Christmas before the 24th! 😉)
It was sleeting outside the chapel just now. I am inside and gave just fired up the boiler. I have a series of radiators now getting warm: Zone 1 in the main hall, Zone 2 in the annex! Just in time for this cold snap. We should be snugly tomorrow! Now to work out how to set the timer
The boiler works! Central heating hopefully this weekend for the first time in 2 years! What a relief that will be.
And talking of reliefs, last week I had the first external visitor using our facilities. I was doing some of the final plumbing works, when there was a knock on the chapel door and a wet bedraggled chap asked, "Have you got a toilet I can use?" I happily advised we had three! 😀.
After Tim had done the necessary, I offered him a coffee and we had a chat.... He was a car delivery person and he had managed to get himself lost. He was looking for the local car dealership, which after he had had a drink and a warm, I was able to send him on his way, pointing to the dealership, that is visible from our building.
I was left with a nice warm feeling that, albeit in a small way, we had been of some help with our new facilities. Roll on the formal opening when we can begin to make wider use of the centre.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
