Thanks for Participating!
The time has come for The Crowd & The Cloud Facebook page to slow down. It's been great to have you follow us during the three-year lifetime of our NSF-funded project and we hope you enjoyed our TV programs on PBS stations and online. Special thanks to those of you who became involved with citizen science or crowdsourcing by using our JOIN A PROJECT (http://bit.ly/2DNd98q) search engine or by finding a project through our partners at SciStarter. The ...four episodes of The Crowd & The Cloud remain online at www.CrowdAndCloud.org, on www.PBS.org, and also on Amazon Prime. Please send those links to friends and family and share with them the power of citizen science!
From here on, we'll be posting on Facebook less often. However, we remain committed to the goals of our project: to showcase "Citizen Science in the Digital Age" and its potential to transform how non-professionals can help protect species and habitats, report pollution, improve public health, and much more. We'll do our best to keep tabs on what's happening in the world of citizen science, and to continue to share what we learned during the research, development and production of the series. Our social media presence will be reduced, but we’re still here! If you have any questions about the series or citizen science, feel free to reach out, and we’ll do our best to get back to you.
We heard from many viewers about the show, but one particularly gratifying comment was posted to our Facebook page:
"THE CROWD & THE CLOUD is an AMAZING new series on PBS (of course!) about Citizen Scientists using the latest technologies to assist them in learning about & finding answers to problems in their own communities & in communities around the world. It's the ultimate in self-empowerment and solving problems. Each episode has got me so excited and hopeful about the future, the world's future, our children's future, the future of everything. If you care about life tomorrow & beyond, you've got to watch or stream this series."
Thanks also to the National Science Foundation (NSF), American Public Television, the WORLD Channel, and our excellent production team of producers, videographers, editors, music composer, special effects artists, researchers, web and social media developers and curators, and many more, without whom none of this would have been possible.
Signing off on behalf of THE CROWD & THE CLOUD:
Waleed Abdalati (Host), Erna Akuginow (Executive Producer) and Geoff Haines-Stiles (Writer/Producer)...
