WOW! what an amazing experience - One of the most memorable days in my 20 years doing theater. We performed Miami New Drama's OUR TOWN to 400 students of Miami-...Dade County Public Schools. It was nothing short of magical. The kids responded to every line of the play - I've never heard such laughter, cheers, excitement. Half of the kids had never seen a play before. They were the most memorable audience I've ever encountered. Their energy was contagious and the cast was feeding from it, and gave the most impressive performance. I am hooked on it. I want more student performances. We also had the amazing visit of Thornton Wilder's newphew and head of the estate Tappan Wilder who talked with the students before the show. (He will be doing a pre-show and a post-show talk after tonight's performance)

Thank you, Matthew Sabatella for making this day happen.
Thank you Knight Foundation, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Miami Beach Government, Adriana Sanchez Perez Michael Spring Brandi Reddick Charles Million and Lynn Wiener. I feel so blessed to be working in this community.

Stephanie Ansin- WOW, I now REALLY get just how powerful/wonderful/important/game-changer the impact of playground theater/MTC was in our community. All my love and respect to you.

Approximately 1,800 students attended a free performance by Miami City Ballet at the Joseph Caleb Auditorium this week. The performance offered accessible accommodations for students with Sensory Processing Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The theater provided an accepting and inclusive environment, modifications to sound and lighting, noise canceling headsets, a professionally-staffed quiet room, and the Going to the Show pre-visit guide to preparing new audiences for a live theatre experience.
