Not Katies + Poindexter - The Prince Albert, Brighton - Saturday 10th March 2018 - ONE-OFF REFORMATION

Not Katies formed in 2000 in Southampton, and over the course of a few years played hundreds of shows across the UK & Europe with the likes of the Bouncing Souls, The Movielife and Alkaline Trio. Although you probably know them for that one video that got hammered on P-Rock and Scuzz TV. Come party like it's 2003 for one night only!

I know! I was surprised too when NOT KATIES got in touch for a show! They were one of the bands I loved as a P-Rock-watching, Punktastic forum-posting teenager and I'm properly stoked they've reformed and will be with us for their first gig since 2006!!! And what's even better is they've gotten their old pals, Brighton's own POINDEXTER to reform too!

This may well be a one-off so don't let yourself miss it!

Emotional pop punk in the vein of Saves The Day and Get Up Kids, semi-favourites from the early noughties Brighton scene. Other attempts at musical projects and family life followed but never let that keep a good man down. Or 4 men.

Such Small Hands is the moniker of the exceptional sad-pop artist Melanie Howard. We had the pleasure of putting out a double-release (lathe-cut 7" and CD EP) for SSH last year and since then she's gone from strength-to-strength, a brilliant follow-up single 'Not In Love' accompanied support slots on tour with The Wedding Present and shows with such varied acts as Thomas Truax, Kllo, Lou Rhodes of Lamb, Plastic Mermaids and Haiku Salut amongst others.

Such Small Hands plays ...The Hope & Ruin (downstairs) Sunday 19th November alongside RM Hubbert, Mammoth Penguins, Speak Galactic & Lee Clayden. Entry is FREE(!)

In case you missed it, we're putting on the very excellent DIY noise-rock legends Silent Front for their final ever Brighton show on 19th January at The Prince Albert. It's going to be pretty damn great if you ask me.

In the meantime, SF are recording one final album and you can help make it a reality - word is, this Kickstarter (link below) is the only place to get it as they won't be ready in time for the show so buy yourself one or forever be sad you missed out. Then come... to the gig whether you bought one or not. https://www.kickstarter.com/p…/1432039067/silent-front-three

Super stoked to have Mammoth Penguins down on Sunday 19th November for a FREE SHOW as part of our "it's miserable out" gig!

We had MP down last year in support of the brill Steven James Adams (we've also had singer Emma Kupa's solo band and previous band Standard Fare to play in the past) and they were fantastic - now seemed a great time to get them back again!

They have a new album out as 'Mammoth Penguins & Friends' called 'John Doe' via Wiaiwya - listen here: https://wia...iwya.bandcamp.com/album/john-doe

It was with a heavy heart that I recently read the news that UK DIY/Noise rock legends SILENT FRONT were calling it a day. I thought it only appropriate as they've been sat on my "get these guys down for a gig" list for years to ask if they fancied one last Brighton jaunt. I'm dead happy they said ok.

Get your ears around this if you've never had the chance: https://silentfront.bandcamp.com/

In even better news, SF are bringing along the blisteringly loud noise/sludge group ...BRUXA MARIA (https://bruxamaria.bandcamp.com) ft. a bit of a rotating lineup, but at times have members of Ghold, Palehorse, Trencher, Bad Guys, Sly & The Family Drone as part of ‘em.
