Coming to you from my living room where once again April twentieth another day of the Corona virus in our prayers, go out to first responders and health care workers and all those that are suffering from this terrible virus. wanna talk you about a couple of things one obviously the character it went through and just the structure of that was unusual. You know you saw Nancy Pelosi working to get that 20 - five million dollars for the Kennedy Center and then Money that he has and that an endowment of 40 million dollars and they get nine million dollars in aid from that you saw that the fast food restaurants the pot bellies and what have you went to the front of the line? The man pop shops we're at the back of the line in terms of getting supports White is all that happened and the reason why all that happens is we're living in a very corrupt system and a corrupt process term limits are key and I've been talking about that for a long. Term limits are absolutely critical, one of the problems with Washington, DC and even Springfield and probably much more. so Springfield is that these people leave their jobs as legislators and they go and become lobbyists and lobbyists. we know from the United States Senate 50 percent of all senators lead become registered lobbyists, a third of all House of Representatives lead become registered lobbyists and because a lot of them don't register the actual numbers are way higher than that. So why did. This happen, why did they do that? I'll give you an example just in Springfield, My former state representative became a lobbyist and you know he was gonna be primary and he was gonna lose the primary and so I thought to myself boy this guy might have a hard time making a living in no. he's doing great. He's killing it as a lobbyist and as a Republican, he was elevated into leadership by the Republican House he was he was made the head of the HR, the fundraising arm and he sold out on all these balls. Involved with Democrats and gave us a lot of bad legislation as result and as a result of that, you know the Democrats love him and the Republicans that have consistently stood for nothing and in Springfield or or find see. I'm not at all. but I'm saying historically obviously we've stood for nothing in Springfield, You know historically I hear these stories all the time the Speaker needs six votes, so I wanna find 60 Republicans to run around and vote with him. Alright believe it. 100 percent I've heard the same thing on the Senate side. They need so many votes so they run around find so many Republican senators that will vote and then the leadership gives them cover what a suspect just what a horrible horrible process, so these lobbyists they they represent corporations typically when they leave and they can give money to the politicians so they're already friends with them and although the Corporation can't give money, the palette, the lobbyist can get money to the politicians. Then you couple that with the fact that they're writing. Laws and they write laws that benefit the corporations and as we talked about in the Care Act and how the big guy goes to the front of the line, the little guy waits in line and it is all the way at the back of the line. You also look at the process in terms of you know what what is happening as a result, and why is all this happening Well they make about 1500 times a salary that they made in Congress Hundred and 70 - 4000, which is a huge living in Congress Make quadruple that is lobbyist and then you know they go out they become lobbyists and why is this such a problem? You know for every dollar that a Corporation spends on a lobbyist it gets about $220 return. So it's ridiculous. Nobody talks about this in Springfield. Nobody talks about this in Washington, DC cuz everybody's ripping us off the little guy. I don't I would never do that. I'm running for for what I believe are very much the right reasons and I think you degree or the right reasons is a total sex. Our legislative process is assessed and is represented and there's a lot of crooks in this process and something has to happen and we've gotta stand up and we gotta quit saying nice things about all these people in acting like they're, it's only on one side of the aisle. Two parties destroyed the state of Illinois. We need term ones these people need to go home. I'm running against Dick Durbin. He's been there 30 - eight years. His wife was a lobbyist.
