Temperatures are dropping fast in NWA, so could we see icing in spots tonight into Wed morning? Here's a VIDEO FORECAST update at 3 PM giving you the timing, impact and amounts of potential ice accumulation through Wed morning. --Dan Skoff
Could we see another chance of wintry weather this week? I've got that answer and more in your VIDEO FORECAST. Plus, we've got a rainy weather pattern that lasts throughout the entire 7 day forecast. Keep the rain gear handy this week, you'll need it. --Dan Skoff
Well... I've always said I'm losing my mind. Tonight was proof. I couldn't not for the life of me remember the name of the school I visited this morning. You could tell the struggle was real!
See if I remembered the school eventually. Sorry everyone at Bright Field Middle School for messing up the name, but you were great and thanks for having me. Time to get some sleep.
We've got an active forecast with multiple chances of rain along with drastic temperature drops in your extended forecast. Rain is headed our way for Thu. I've got the timing and when we see that BIG plunge in your #arwx VIDEO FORECAST. --Dan Skoff
This season has been the winter of drastic temperature changes. This time we continue on the uphill climb over the next two days as we warm to possibly record high levels on Thu. The warmth doesn't last long though. I'll have that and the rest of your 7 day forecast on the news tonight. --Dan Skoff
We're currently in a warming trend over the next few days. Temperatures will dramatically warm into midweek, but first we have a few rain chances in the forecast. We'll see a quick moving system move through southern AR clipping areas south of I-40 in the RV. More rain chances ahead highlighted in your VIDEO FORECAST. --Dan Skoff
Okay everyone... not all forecasts are created equal. This is just an experiment to solidify my thinking on how people lump ALL forecasts together. If we don't all predict it...then we were wrong with the forecast. Case in point... the sunshine predicted for last Sunday, even though we had cloudy with highs near 32 from the forecast late last week.
Please look at the forecast from various sources for tomorrow (Tue) morning, especially if you live in the River Valley. Do you ...see the chance of precipitation, especially in the morning?
If you don't see the chance of showers, that's not what I'm predicting. I think subtle waves of energy from Baja will eject to the NE and bring the chance of showers in the morning south of I-40. I've seen from past experience models are known to have a terrible time picking up on these subtle waves from the eastern Pacific near Baja.
I even think temperatures will be cold enough to bring some light freezing rain south of I-40 for a brief time during the morning around 7 AM. I think this weak system will be too far south to affect the NWA area. So while other forecasts say no precipitation Tue morning, I beg to differ. Let me know what your apps are saying for Tue and comment below. If these showers don't happen... well then I guess I'm wrong. If they do happen... then I can just hear it now. "I thought it wasn't supposed to rain this morning."
Even though the ice can be so dangerous when driving, it can also be a beautiful sight in the sunshine. Share any photos you might have captured the last few days in the comments below and I'll share some on the news tonight.
Oh by the way... there's another chance of winter weather Fri, but the latest models took it out of the forecast. I'll let you know if I think they're right or wrong in weather tonight.

We'll thaw out and melt the ice over the next few days, BUT another STRONG cold front will bring a drastic temperature drop and another chance of a wintry mix. I've got the latest timing on when you can expect our next taste of winter in your #arwx VIDEO FORECAST. --Dan Skoff
Ladies and gentlemen... things are serious on I-49 from Springdale to the Bobby Hopper Tunnel! Please make sure you tell your loved ones to avoid traveling on I-49 tonight.
Bridges are extremely slick and parts of I-49 are closed down as of 8:30pm from a fatal accident near West Fork. Someone died and apparently the roads weren’t treated in this area... at least at the time of the accident. We gave plenty of advanced notice! Please avoid traveling on I-49 in Washington Co. if you can tonight.
