Today, President Barack Obama signed into law the FOIA Improvement Act of 2016, which Representative Elijah E. Cummings and I have been fighting to implement for years. I joined Speaker Paul Ryan to sign it before it was sent to the President’s desk and signed into law this afternoon.

This critical update to the Freedom of Information Act is a major milestone that enshrines into law the people’s right to know what their government is actually doing. It’s a significant step forward to the accountable government the people deserve.

The FBI decision shows once again how the Clintons and others at the top get to live by a different set of rules from everyone else. No accountability.

DEVELOPING: FBI recommends no charges be brought against Hillary Clinton over use of private email server.

Last week I voted for a bipartisan package to help fight Zika. But was deeply disappointed to see the Senate block this important measure last night. Our women and children cannot afford to wait. The Senate should put politics aside and pass the bill immediately.

Harry Reid blocks money to fight the Zika virus as an election ploy., the Wall Street Journal writes in an editorial.

We all should be grateful to Chairman Trey Gowdy and rest of the Benghazi Select Committee for their fortitude, perseverance and commitment to finding the truth, despite relentless and continuing obstruction by Congressional Democrats and the withholding of information by the Obama Administration. The report released today provides necessary answers and a true measure of accountability that the American people deserve.

A damning report authored by the Republican-led House committee probing the Benghazi terror attacks faulted the Obama administration for a range of missteps before, during and after the fatal 2012 attacks – saying top administration officials huddled to craft their public response while military ass...

The vote last night was historic, but it won’t change the special friendship we have with our allies in the U.K. I look forward to bolstering our trade relationship, working together on shared issues of national security, and strengthening the historic ties that bind our two nations.

The United Kingdom voted in a referendum Thursday to leave the European Union, according to the United Kingdom Electoral Commission. In our democracy, the President doesn’t get to legislate by executive decree whenever the people’s representatives don’t give him what he wants. The split-decision reminds us how important it is that the next Supreme Court justice revere the Constitution and original intent.

The Supreme Court handed down a tied vote in United States v. Texas on Thursday, effectively blocking President Barack Obama’s immigration executive ac ...

In case you missed it, last week Congress passed much-needed upgrades to the nation’s Freedom of Information Act. I’ve fought hard for these reforms over the last three years, which will make it much harder for government to withhold information from the public. They're expected to be signed into law this week.

In a gloomy news week dominated by the slaughter of 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla. and its aftermath, it is understandable that Congres...

Today, the Oversight Committee will vote to censure the IRS Commissioner for his actions after the conservative targeting scandal. He must be held accountable.

The measure — part of a larger campaign by conservatives against Koskinen over the way he handled investigations of the 2013 IRS nonprofit targeting scandal — would require him to forfeit his government pension.
