I love everything about Dawn Farms and everything that it has to offer, I would give 5 stars no ques...tions asked but unfortunately a employee of Dawn Farms named “Vince” who most definitely takes 4 of those stars out of the equation, I would highly consider giving him appropriate training. Unfortunately, my husband never got a chance to see what the program is actually like. After being ...on the scholarship wait list for 3 weeks, I called again to check him in on the wait list and was told that he had been taken off the list because of his mental health issues - that are completely under control with medication. No one even bothered to call and tell me he had been taken off the wait list and couldn’t come to Dawn Farm. I had to then contact the clinical director to get answers about why he couldn’t come. When I called initially, I was told the only requirements were that my husband lives in Michigan and that he had been in another treatment program in the last year - both of which are the case with him. I was also told that he could either keep seeing his psychiatrist for his medications or he could see the psychiatric nurse practitioner at Dawn Farm. Never was it even mentioned that there was a possibility that he wouldn’t qualify because he has a mental illness. Very disappointed and now we’ve wasted over 3 weeks that we could have been looking into other treatment programs. I would like to also add that never was I once given an apology for how this situation was handled on their end. All I got was a “that was wrong,” and “I’ll talk to my staff.” And now, here we are, almost a week later, and we have been unable to find anywhere else for my husband to go. Dawn Farm was the only place we could find that offered financial assistance for those who couldn’t afford to pay.
