The entire band congregated today to collaborate on new music for the first time in years. We began reviewing the many bits and pieces of music we’ve been writing the past couple of years to see where we stand. We were excited to realize we’ve got a significant chunk of strong material to build on towards a new album. Barre and Egan are hunkered down in Barre’s studio demoing arrangements right now, and we will all continue to meet for the next two weeks to work on new music, demo and jam. More updates soon.
Dismantling Devotion, Lost to the Living and A Frail Becoming are finally available worldwide on deluxe double vinyl! Thanks to Johnny McCabe for sharing his photo. We'll post more photos once our copies arrive as well.

Happy Friday the 13th!
No Reply, our debut album, was released this month... 15 years ago! Although a little rough around the edges (as most debuts are), I can still hear the deep ambition and exploration which pulsed through our veins. 15 years on, we're still proud of this starting point. Finally... all of us are getting together this winter to stir the cauldron of creativity. No specific expectations on the outcome, but we're excited to get in the same room.

Spinefarm/Candlelight to Re-issue Daylight Dies albums on Vinyl in 2017
Between 2006-2012, Daylight Dies released three classic and highly revered death/doom metal albums on Candlelight Records: Dismantling Devotion (2006), Lost to the Living (2008) and A Frail Becoming (2012). Much to the disappointment of fans and the band alike, none of these albums ever made it to vinyl… until now. Spinefarm/Candlelight have stepped up to re-release special double vinyl editions of all three albums, just in time for Autumn 2017.
Drummer Jesse Haff commented:
“We are all thrilled that these three albums, which each have such deep significance to us, will be reborn in a physical form of such quality and dignity. One of the few positive developments of the music industry in the past decade or so has been the resurgence of vinyl, and it has been frustrating that none of our albums were available in the format. Layout and lyrics have always been especially essential to telling the complete story, and so it’s been a pleasure working with Dan and Spinefarm/Candlelight in crafting a reformatted version of the layout in a large beautiful display. We are grateful for this opportunity, and can’t wait for the release of all three albums this Autumn."
All of us (except Egan, sadly) got together in person for the first time in a long time this weekend to celebrate Nate's birthday. We had a blast and figured we'd share a photo with you all. We've got a little news to share fairly soon (not a new album or tour, but still something we're excited about)... so, stay tuned.
Egan reflects on the song Last Alone:
"I wrote this song ten years ago, which is crazy to realize. I think I shared it with friends long before anyone in the band heard it, because at the time I saw zero applicability to a death/doom metal band.
The irony is that a song I wrote about my own arrogance and subsequent humility led to some really amazing stuff with the help of my friends Barre, Jesse, Nathan and CharChar. Go figure. Thanks Fellas."...

It's been a long time coming, but we've got Daylight Dies t-shirts, a long-sleeve and even some ladies shirts in stock. The only album we don't have a design for is No Reply (which we'll add soon).
Dredging the depths
Obscured by time
I'll never find
Flattering to be included in a list alongside At the Gates and Carcass, among others.
It's excruciatingly hard to believe, but Dismantling Devotion was released 10 years ago today. We're proud of everything we've released, but Dismantling has unquestionably spawned a life of her own, piercing deeper into the hearts of many than we could have ever imagined.
Thank you for sharing what the album has meant to you throughout the past decade. Celebrate by cranking her loud!
