I'm a reporter for Dayton Daly. what you just saw a couple of seconds ago was one of the organizers of the event. she's asking the protesters to disperse also if you're just tuning in earlier, we saw I believe four Beavercreek police officers taking a knee in solidarity with the protesters and then ask them to get off of the road stop blocking the road get on to the to the grass here behind me and continue protesting if you guys can. They're this road is blocked off and then yeah the whole intersection is blocked off. If you guys could not hear that the police just announced over loud Speaker that if protesters do not disperse, they could get arrest. so I not sure if we'll see protesters disperse but we'll be here live and covering it. Pasco Highway Patrol Let's go fast. Highway Patrol I was like what the hell. Say you're stuck here. You too. Across from Dearborn primary. It's a salon. hi, hi, how are you guys? I'm a reporter at Dayton Daily News. Would you mind if I talk to you guys about why you wanted to come out today and down tree? Yeah. absolutely. yes. Well we're I'm here today. we were just talking about our children. We're here not probably not necessarily for our own self. And especially police brutality in just Associated with the police Department. politicians are hopefully next. Hopefully this will be for ourselves to change because we got. That yesterday and they didn't and I'm really I'm from Greene County Okay. So I'm glad that I supported and they actually came out to support us out here and that means a lot and I'm glad that the protests are remaining peaceful but they are as the governor mentioned very appropriate and they're necessary. So I'm happy that in a time like this people feel like their voice matters and they're gonna use it because it's their weapon and we can stop the violence because we can use our voices. Yeah. and so you said you were out on Saturday and Sunday. Yes, okay. That's I begin in Columbus, Ohio When the oh really Ohio, we're gonna drive out to Minneapolis and when it got violent, we changed our mind and we try to find something local to Columbus. It's beautiful. It's beautiful. We stood aside blacks whites Hispanics. We stood aside people with high paying jobs and and homeless at the same time for the same goals and it spoke values that alone book to. And it was contagious and hopefully that's what's gonna happen all around the world and in the violence and they'll see that a peaceful protest. if it continues is what brings the results that we wanna see and it's a process that won't happen. Any emotions that came up when you saw those Beavercreek police taking a knee with the protesters. Well, I saw that yesterday as well, I saw the heart of the officers is actually with us, they are doing their job. They can't just sacrifice a fully to join our protest and lose their job. Some of them decide to one. The police that allow us the opportunity to protest peacefully within our rights and we do want them to join when they're given the approval from their Department. However, that works, I don't know why it's taken so long. I said it earlier on the radio, the police chief should want this. You should work. You should want the communication in a relation with the community to be strong and that's what's gonna make it happen is when they join with us and show that we are for the same causes. We are all standing against Injustice period. It's there's no color lines here. We are the people. Injustice and you said you were out this past weekend. Do you think you'll continue to come out if as events pop up throughout this week and into the future shouldn't be here but you when it's your passion and you know how important it is, you know your number counts you have to add your body. You have to add your signs to the number of the people. you can't let this or not like this are out here. You can't let her be out here. No she's here brings me here. Absolutely yeah. Would you mind if I if I got your name? My name is Lakita Maes. Thanks Lolita. I appreciate you're talking with me. have a blessed day. Yeah you guys too. No Justice, no peace, No Justice, No. No peace, No Justice, no peace, No Justice, no peace, No Justice. No no. Following the game, Nice to know your partner, There's corrupt cops and there's cowards and I think are you know which one you are in. How Y'all doing over here? Hey. Her I mean. Those are to help. Hi officer. I'm a reporter for Dayton Daily News. Would you mind talking with me about why you took that photo with a protester? I'm not officially allowed to talk to you cuz it needs to be so many higher-ups but we all these kids grew up around here this Green County I've been in Green County for 20 years working. I used to be an SEO. I know a lot of these kids from being a school resource officer. I'm detective. We're all we're all. We have the same. Hi guys. If you're just tuning in my name is Bonnie. I'm a reporter for Dayton Daily News we're out here in Beaver Creek at the intersection of North Fairfield Road and Pentagon Boulevard. I just talked with a Fairborn police officer who told me who was taking a photo with a protester And just said that he was a school resource officer. He's from this area. A lot of the people out here today from this area and everyone. He said. Everyone's human and everyone shares some of the same struggles and that's why he was in solidarity with the protester. To College Thanks guys. Matter hi, I'm a reporter from Dayton Daily News. Would you mind if I talk to you guys about why you wanted to come out and demonstrate today? Can I see your signs first? And why did you guys wanna come out today? I mean, you know it's centuries of depression from the beginning of. Been watching the murders of you know. It's and so we wanted to do something to be here and show this is the sauce we have to now yesterday. Did you guys come out this weekend in Dayton with I was I kinda wanted to. I wasn't sure if anything was going on in New York. That's why we're in the business. Do you guys think that as events pop up like this coming week, we will you continue to go in protest. Jamal where you guys did you guys live here when John Crawford was shot at the Walmart in 2014, could you just talk about I mean you already touched on it. How if you're seeing this almost a similar thing and for six years later, it's. I no matter how we protest things you'll ever seem to change. So it's really upsetting that even after that and after we had to kind of here, it's still happening and it's happening so we're in town too. It doesn't matter where it's happening. it just hurts and did you guys see when the some of the police officers kneeled with the protesters? Were you here for that? I'm not well, I guess does the fact that that happened? Do you guys have any? Any feelings for you guys it's definitely difficult to there's a lot of cities. they're doing Andes working And you know there's a lot of out here and. It is yeah. I guess they're kneeling, it like you know 10 minutes later. It's really hard to get to. And are you guys planning on being out here all night or how long do you think you'll be out here? Yeah. Would you mind if I got your names? I'm alexandras Can you scout Scott Okay Gotcha and Wilkins Wilkins Okay. Awesome. you guys so much. On all fours. It's.
