I was having difficulty getting an interpreter for my father for a medical appointment. Although I w...as addressing the ADA laws and reasonable accommodations for people with different abilities. The office kept telling me "No, and that it was the patient's financial responsibility to hire an interpreter." I called DCS to hire an interpreter for my dad's appointment, and they immediately transferred my call to an advocate. The advocate called the medical office, and I am sure after much persuasion, an interpreter was hired for his appointment without a financial cost to our family.
