Debbie has spent the last twenty-years dedicated to improving the lives of underserved communities in Miami-Dade, working to protect our environment and improve healthcare access for all Floridians. Now, she wants to take our fight to Congress. Join her today.
Praying for all those involved and for our first responders on the scene. #FIUstrong
I am so inspired by the thousands of students participating in the #nationalwalkoutday. Our children are on the right side of history. As a mom, I want to share a conversation I had with my daughter.
Last week, my 9-year-old daughter described in detail the active shooter drill that her school was conducting. With fear in her eyes, she told me in the event a lockdown takes place while a student is in the hallway or bathroom, they wouldn't be allowed back into the classroom b...ecause of the lockdown. She told me if this ever happens to her and she sees the shooter, that she'll try to reason with them. She'll ask them to think of their sister or cousin. She told me it's scary but they have to practice. As a mom, my heart broke listening to my child describe something she should never have to think or worry about. As a victim of gun violence, I am outraged that Congress has not acted to protect our schools, our children, our communities from gun violence. Our children are demanding that we act to make their schools safer so they can focus on learning not on how to prepare for an active shooter. In Congress, I'll fight every day to protect our children. #NeverAgain

Curbelo has been with Trump all the way & it's no surprise he wants Trump with him on the campaign trail this year. #FL26
Governor Rick Scott signed an imperfect and dangerous bill into law. Education advocates who understand the impacts of putting guns in schools urged the Governor to veto it. It includes some reforms, but it's not enough. We must keep the pressure on for comprehensive gun reform. #onlythebeginning #neveragain #enoughisenough #FL26
All day I’ve thought about the women I want to celebrate. There are so many, my mother, my sisters, my mentors, my friends. You inspire me and give me strength to go on. For all the women out there, this is our year, our century, our moment. #WomensDay #Womenlead #FL26
“Now more than ever, we need women in Washington who will bring our voices and protect our rights,” said Mucarsel-Powell. “As a Latina immigrant, I come from a long line of strong women, and I am proud to have the endorsement of NARAL Pro-Choice America. In Congress, I will work to defend our reproductive freedom, fight gender discrimination, and pass paid maternity and paternity leave.” #FL26
23% is a failing grade and it matters. South Florida is ground zero for sea level rise and we need a leader that will combat Climate Change head on not someone that says, "I don't know and I don't care" when it comes to our precious environment. #FL26
What an honor to receive this endorsement from Common Defense a group of veterans who demand action and progress in America. Thank you!
Common Defense Veterans and Military Families are proud to endorse Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for Congress in Florida’s 26th Congressional District.
Debbie is an im...migrant from a working class background who has dedicated the past 22 years to improving the lives of underserved communities in Miami-Dade, working to expand access to healthcare, and fighting against the impacts of Climate Change.
As the entire nation grapples with the aftermath of the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida, Debbie represents a powerful voice against the corrupt NRA, having lost her father to gun violence.
Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, whose father was shot and killed in Ecuador when she was 24, is challenging Republican Rep. Carlos Curbelo in one of the nation's most competitive House districts in South Florida. She's vowing to press the Democratic Party to put the issue front and center.
This is awful and heartbreaking. ICE has gone unchecked for far too long. They're targeting our communities, stoking fear and chaos. And Carlos Curbelo’s talk does nothing to stop President Trump's mass deportation efforts. We cannot let this continue to happen. ¡Ya basta!
When I was 24 years old, my father was murdered by a criminal with a gun. I got the call from my sister and learned a pain that so many parents in Florida are feeling right now. That’s a call no person should ever receive and a pain no person in our country should have to feel. #ParklandStudentsSpeak #neveragainmovement
