Dana Bean5starI just visited Deer Park for the first time and I've come home restored and focused. I meet amazing people, ate incredib...le food and enjoyed the gorgeous surroundings. I have been doing sitting meditation for about 20 years, but the monks and nuns at Deer Park showed me how to quiet my mind and be silent and mindful in every activity: eating, walking, working. I will try to carry this mindfulnes s with me in every step. See More
5starI love Deer Park. I have been going fairly regularly since 2008. It has been life changing. I now live in WashingtonS...tate and have yet to find a Sangha close to me. But I still have close friends from my Sangha in San Diego that I am in contact with. Deer Park has been a saving grace for me in a challengin g time in my life. Thay's teachings have brought great peace, love and compassion into my life. I would gratefully call it saving grace. I would invite all who have questions and a desire for understand ing to visit one of Thay's retreat centers to experience the teachings of a great master in the art of mindfulnes s and peace for one's self and an understand ing of our connection to all beings.
Peace be with you and a Lotus to all.
Smiling to you. See More

This Evening our Sangha here at Deer Park will practice sitting meditation and chanting up in the mountain next to our large White Buddha statue as the Full moon rise. Tomorrow morning we will bathe the Baby Buddha under the ancient Oaks, touching the historical Buddha and Buddha Nature in ourselves and in each other. In order to deepen our understanding and compassion we would like to share with you a letter inviting us to celebrate a Green Vesak. [ 503 more words. ]

Among them were two friends helping to film many activities from the retreat, many Earth Holder Sangha members, friends from One Earth Sangha, Buddhist Climate Action Network and 350.org. By the Venerable Thich Phuoc Tinh Dear community, today is the last day of the Vietnamese retreat. There was a Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings transmission ceremony yesterday. Most of the people here are practitioners who have already received the Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings. Regrettably, there was no time for Sister Chan Khong and Brother Phap Dang to share the meanings of the Fourteen Precepts. [ 9219 more words. ]
