The kalamata olive bread is amazing. I couldn't finish it all in one sitting, so I sliced it up and froze it. Last night (2weeks later) I pulled a few slices from the freez...er, toasted them and drizzled olive oil on them and they were fabulous!
Secondly, I am terrified of dogs. Big breeds. Large dogs. They're everywhere
The Delray GreenMarket is closed tomorrow for the 50th Annual St. Patricks Day Parade and Festival. The GreenMarket will be open next Saturday as usual, see you then!
Chef Dan Ramos of Red Splendor Sausage shopped the Market for the freshest ingredients and made organic chicken meatballs served over veggie noodles at last Saturday's Chef Showcase, here is Dan's recipe:
2 large zucchini - Green Cay Farm
1 box cherry tomatoes - Green Cay Farm
1 bunch scallions - Lox Farm...
1 bunch dill - Lox Farm
1 bunch parsley - Lox Farm
1 pkg. micro greens - Lox Farm
2 large carrots - Myles Produce
1 lemon - Myles Produce
1 lb. organic chicken meatballs - Red Splendor Sausage
1 jar Marinara Sauce - Fick & Frak
1/2 to 1 cup Cilantro Lime Sauce - Smart Girl
1 pkg. Porcini Mushroom Salt - AB's Gourmet Kitchen
Wash carrots and zuchini, use a veggie spiralizer to make the veggie noodles, transfer the noodles to a saute' pan and add 1/2 to 1 cup of the cilantro lime sauce; saute until the noodles soften up but are still firm. In a separate pan, cook the chicken meatballs in the marinara sauce; chop the dill and parsley and halve the cherry tomatoes. In a large bowl, toss the noodles, tomatoes, herbs and lemon juice. Serve the noodles with the chicken meatballs and marina sauce; top with a sprinkling of micro greens and porcini mushroom salt.
The 17th Annual Easter Bonnet Pet Parade will take place at the GreenMarket on Saturday, March 31st!
Categories: Most Traditional Bonnet, Funniest, Most Tropical, Most Frou-frou, Owner-Doggie Look-a-like, and Large Breed. Best of Show will be awarded through People's Choice Votes, so come and vote for your favorite Easter Bonnet!
Registration: 9AM-10AM. A $5.00 registration donation is suggested and proceeds are donated to a local animal rescue group.
Where: East side of Old School Square Park
Route: Parade leaves at 10AM and travels south on 2nd Avenue (Pineapple Grove Way) to Atlantic Avenue, turns west, and heads to the Cornell Art Museum for judging and prizes of each category.
