The statements that appear on Detained Voices are the stories, experiences and demands made by people held in immigration detention centres in the UK or those who have family members or partners in detention. The site is operated by supporters outside of detention. The vast majority of the statements are written verbatim from a conversation over the phone. The statement is read back for the author of the statement to make changes and confirm that they wish it to be published.
