An end to the once endless reconfiguring and restructuring. Time to sit with the creation. There is work to be done.
A new long playing studio mix that represents what i like to play out live. Never was the type to fit comfortably into a 1 hour podcast.
All of the pieces fell together for the upcoming EP on Manjumasi, with Love over Entropy turning in what i consider to be a timeless bit of music. Really excited about the whole package here with lush originals from Doyeq and a trademark stone cold groove from Audiofly.
A few weeks back Manjumasi did a takeover of the Kiosk at KaterBlau after Amsterdam Dance Event. Here's the live recording of my part of night. classic sounding house grooves from across the spectrum and spanning the years.
Taking advantage of an open to close set at TBA Brooklyn on December 19th to pull out some more gems from the closet. dust off some vinyl, grab some hand-scrawled CDRs and lets go.
Helping out this Thursday night with a fundraiser for Houston at the Panther Room along with Francis Harris, Henry Chow and Nihal Ramchandani. Everyone involved has some ties to the area (mine through Pramod Gumpeni) and I'm looking forward to closing out the night. Come on by and help out a good cause.
Recorded live at The Cityfox Experience at the Brooklyn Mirage, July 1, 2017 (also playing that night were Stephan Bodzin, Recondite and Tale of Us).
I knew I would have my work cut out for me with this time slot given the large difference in styles between the preceding and following artists, so this may sound like a peaktime set in reverse. However, as most of you who follow my mixes know, i tend to be quite long-winded in my approach, so fitting a meaningful progression wh...ile keeping the energy high, within the confines of an unexpectedly shortened timeslot was a difficult but fruitful exercise. Coupled with trying to reconnect my guitar pedals at the last minute (with only half success), it was a stressful start but i got into a comfortable zone quickly. Its a pretty bumpy ride through a number of styles of heavier techno and electro, but i'm never one to play it safe. probably shows with the BoC stylings of the closing as well.
Sometimes you just can't decide, and so we have our first Manjumasi VA release. Out today!
Enough with all these premieres! Let's move on from that hob-goggle and have a proper release. The Six Swords VA is now officially available in full, showcasing... six finely crafted tunes from producers spanning six nationalities: the debut of Swiss duo Unjam Emery, a follow-on from Russia's Saultloom, mysterious melodies from Los Angeles' Fernando Aragon, a haunting groove from Thailand's DOTT, a darker twist from Brooklyn-to-LA Sam Jaspersohn : Music, and last but not least a beautiful and organic number from Pakistani-Greek duo V i v i d and Savvas. We're super excited to feature all of these producers.
