The Taoiseachs "Republic of Opportunity" is nothing but a pipe dream.
My generation need a Govenrment that serves them and their best interests; not one that looks down on them with complete disdain.

Lots of damage around City and County. Am passing on all reports I get of trees and other issues.
Popped in to Togher boxing club for a bit where Cork City helping homeless & volunteers are ensuring that the homeless are not out on the streets tonight, maith sibh obair iontach. Great to see community responding
Spoke a while ago to County Council area Engineer with Cllr Eoghan Jeffers at the area office in Carrigaline
They are currently assessing the damage and roads where trees have fallen. Their priority is trees blocking roads. Have reported several including at Passage West, Monkstown, Lehenaghbeg and Douglas. They were aware of some but not of others so report those in your area.
Some of the damage done by the storm. Douglas Community School and Turners Cross Stadium. Underlines the danger of the storm. Do not take chances
Wind is the greatest risk in Cork city. Cork city council engineers say flooding risk much reduced. Water levels will begin to rise from noon until 1pm today and will hold for a couple of hours. However flooding at high tide NOT looking likely. Winter's Hill, off Blarney St, is now closed to traffic.
City Council info on weather warming
They have a free phone line on 1800283034

What prospects are there for young people to have a permanent home?
Well, after this week's FG/FF Budget the answer is simple: None, the Government aren't interested

Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire shared Sinn Féin Ireland's video.
Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil's budget today shows this government is failing to stand up for ordinary people and failing to invest in our fractured public services. It is a budget that normalises elitism and further drives inequality. The people deserve better than that.
This is not something that Sinn Féin will stand over and it is disgraceful that this is the best that Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil can cobble together. We've chosen our side, now it's time to choose yours, join Sinn Féin today and make the change! Join us at www.sinnfein.ie/join

Absolutely incredible that there is nothing on affordable housing in today’s Budget.
There are thousands of people who cannot get a mortgage but don’t qualify for social housing. They have pretty much no options except spend a fortune on private rent.
They are a category of people who have been utterly ignored.
