This political PR stunt by Greg Abbott doesn’t solve anything. While he lay warm tonight others will freeze bc their shelter has been taken. In the richest country in the world we find money to take care of our privileged but close up shop when we need to take care of our poor, sick and people of color. This is cruel and doesn’t make our communities safe.

As Texas’ governor promotes sensational stories of homeless violence and threatens a state crackdown, the people living on Austin’s streets tell a different story.

We must recognize institutional racism is built within the framework of our justice systems & our elected officials who do nothing to change it are complicit. Let’s elect folks who will revolutionize the system NOT comply to it.
