Fundraiser for Cancer Research UK by Kate Darke ·
Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.
We are Loose Change Buskers. We are a group who play and collect only for Cancer Research UK. Over the last 12 years we have managed to raise an outstanding £743,000
We are all volunteers and take no expenses so every fee or donation and every penny in our buckets goes directly to Cancer Research UK .
You will have seen us all over Manchester come rain or shine playing at markets , town centres, supermarkets, outside pubs etc .
Our calendar is usually very very busy ....
We had so many great events scheduled for 2020 onwards until COVID-19 forced us like everyone else into Lockdown. We have now had to change the way we do things.
I’m sure you will understand the unprecedented measures to control the global pandemic have had a huge impact on both our researchers ability to carry on in the lab and our ability to fundraise.
As Ian Foulkes executive director of research and innovation at CRUK said “ cancer doesn’t go away during or after COVID-19 but we are incredibly proud of our community of researchers who have been very quick to respond to the crisis using their kit skills and talent to support the NHS and the COVID-18 response.
We at Loose change Buskers understand that Cancer is happening right now and that the people affected are in a very difficult situation.
Although we can’t get out and do exactly what we would normally have done pre pandemic we need to do what we can do , so we want to reach out to our supporters who are in a position to help us to help get Cancer research funding back on track .
The vaccine is here but we are facing the worst health crisis the NHS has ever had to deal with .We have all had the good stuff in our arms now and the future is looking brighter but we now need to help our cancer patients more than ever.
This year especially the life saving trials cancer research fund could be the only hope some cancer patients get so please understand that every penny you donate could be giving that husband more happy years with his wife or that young mother the chance to watch her children grow up.
The cancer research scientists many of whom worked on the vaccines are now desperate for donations to continue their lifesaving work . Please help us to help them by sharing this giving page and remembering however little you can donate can save precious lives ..Lots of love to you all Kate xxxx See more

Thank you for choosing to set up a fundraiser in support of Cancer Research UK. You've joined a group of determined supporters who are helping to beat cancer.
We’ve helped double cancer survival in the last 40 years. This is because of life-saving research which is only made possible by the generosity of people like you. We really appreciate your efforts and wish you the best of luck with your fundraising goal.
Best wishes, ...
