Guess who got us up at 4 am because of one clap of thunder? I've been busy finishing a new book proposal. I hope you all are staying away from the flu! Isn't it awful this year?
Took a mid winter hike along the river yesterday. Chilly but fun to be outside listening to the rush of water over stones and the chattering of birds. Have a great Saturday everyone. Are you planning to watch the Super Bowl tomorrow? Or no?
Today is Go Red for Women day to call attention to women's heart health. Heart disease is the #1 killer of women and men in the US. Ladies: know your numbers, talk to your doctor about how to reduce your risk of heart disease. Here's to your health!
Dear Friends, If you have enjoyed the Love Inspired Suspense novels or the Smoky Mountain Dreams series by Sandra Robbins, I know you join me in mourning her death yesterday from heart disease. We became friends almost ten years ago, bonding over our shared roots, shared background and most of all, our shared love of history, This picture was taken on a private tour of Rattle and Snap, a trip which we called our Excellent Adventure. We hoped for many more. Goodbye my friend. Angels sing thee to thy rest.
Bracing for more ice and snow here at the lake, beginning tonight. My hot chocolate and my stack of books are ready. I hope you are enjoying your Monday. If you are in the path of the ice storm, hunker down and stay safe!!
So sorry to learn of the death of Sue Grafton. She paved the way for many women authors of detective fiction. She will be greatly missed.
Hello Dear Readers. This is Sue's daughter, Jamie. I am sorry to tell you all that Sue passed away last night after a two year battle with cancer. She was sur...rounded by family, including her devoted and adoring husband Steve. Although we knew this was coming, it was unexpected and fast. She had been fine up until just a few days ago, and then things moved quickly. Sue always said that she would continue writing as long as she had the juice. Many of you also know that she was adamant that her books would never be turned into movies or TV shows, and in that same vein, she would never allow a ghost writer to write in her name. Because of all of those things, and out of the deep abiding love and respect for our dear sweet Sue, as far as we in the family are concerned, the alphabet now ends at Y.
Wishing you all a lovely Christmas and a new year filled with great books. I'm grateful for your friendship and look forward to chatting with you here in 2018. God bless us, every one.
