Dear Dragonfly Lingo friends, foes, fans and other industrial fiends!
It has been painfully long since I had some new music for you, and Dragonfly Lingo isn't back to recording new material just yet. However, as a mix engineer, I have been... pretty busy, and today I would like to present to you one of the fruits of that work.
The Last World by The Evolutionaries is a venture into what probably could be labelled as the industrial garage rock; powerful and dreamy, in-your-face and subtle, aggressive and laid-back — just the way you like them.
The Last World is an LP, it is out today, it is on Bandcamp, it is preview-able in full, it costs a measly seven dollars, it is crafted by wildly talented musicians and it is sporting the same high-standard sound you have grown accustomed to.

What struck me the most was not the one-size-fits-all production, but the one-size-fits-all lyrics. The meant-to-engage and highly-identifying “we are” is upsetting me. The music is violated and abused by these people, and the Shake 'n Bake lyrics with the sing-along value put above anything else make the abuse ...all the more cynical and painful to note.
I don't have anything against “we are,” but ever since a band with the elaborate name “Fun” released their We Are Young, the “we are” became an attribute of that shameless music assault that I dislike so much. Do we need a “we are” song to identify ourselves as a group? I guess we do. A behind-the-scenes view of the acting / green screen master class at the famous Paris film school — la Fémis.
The film exploring libertinism throughout the human history in a cute and sexy way was directed by Emmanuel Mouret & Djibril Gli...ssant and features Conservatoire National Superieur d’Art Dramatique de Paris acting students. It is unknown if the resulting film ever saw the light of day, but yours truly took a few stills, which were later used by ABY to create the cover art for Dragonfly Lingo’s début LP Offscreen.
