Dubtext are playing as a duo in Morningside. Robert and I will be playing some appropriately chill beats for a summer evening of relaxed entertainment at Flight 605 Bar. This is one of the coolest bars in Auckland and we are looking forward to adding our live, dub infused, electronica to the chic vibes of this bar. Free entry.
We are playing tomorrow night at Golden Dawn from about 8:30pm. If you haven't seen us in a while you might be surprised - we now have a live drummer and vocalist.
And the act on after us is amazing - two of Ak's best MCs - Gambit and Axis. Not to be missed.
Live at Dog's Bollix last month. Rob is playing drums - you can hear him - he's just not visible in this shot
From our performance last week in St Kevin's Arcade.
Throwing back to last Thursday's Electric Night K'Road and the OO_ Oxygen Bar that was installed at St. Kevins. A huge amount of respect to Michael McCabe and E...lliot Morgan who have big futures in the design space ahead of them. Thanks also to Dubtext for providing the cool atmosphere with their music experience.
We are thinking of bringing it back for the circus themed #firstthursdays on Thursday Dec 7, with a fortune teller inside... keen?
Gaudi has always been an inspiration. He'll play in NZ on the 2nd December with Deep Forest. Who's going?
It took me many years of music production, composition and research, many years to assemble what I had in mind, many albums I made with the aim of fusing music ...genres, opening new aural horizons and demolishing sound boundaries; I explored the deepest frequencies of dub, the utterly complex world of experimental electronica, the positive attitude of reggae and the darkest side of the 80s sound where I grow up with....! All music that I LOVE to the max! With this new album MAGNETIC i managed to group all those elements together, not thinking too much during the realization of it but just going with the flow, following my instinct, just simply following my art (and heart of course, but more art). The result is pretty astonishing I'd say, higher than everyone's expectation, receiving dozens and dozens of amazing reviews from all over the world, appearing in the most prestigious and diverse music magazines from jazz to reggae, from prog to electronica, from rock to dance to ambient magazines and such. RareNoise Records reprinted the second run of vinyl LP just after 6 days from the release date, I feel happy and I simply wanted to share it with all of you that keep supporting me, my music and my vision. THANK YOU guys it means a lot to me! Here's another great review, this time on Jazz Weekly Magazines, saying 'Draperies of synthesizers, electronics, loops and various programming make this album one for subtle backgrounds, akin to a more modern 'Music For Airports'.
