What better way to celebrate #FamilyFriday than with the newest member of our family? You know a new Teamler is going to be a great addition to the Duos community when being interviewed, he says things like: "I like it when people walk away happy with a meal you have prepared for them". Yes Siree, that is Marlon Sims! He came to Duos through one of our favorite nonprofits, Second Helpings. Aren't we the lucky ones?! Marlon went through the Culinary Job Training Program at Sec...ond Helpings and felt as though all the people there treated him as though he were one of the family. They instilled confidence, showered him with respect and encouraged him as a person. He felt relevant and valued - that is Second Helpings! Marlon came through Second Helpings wanting to improve his skills after a career in service. He was raised in the great city of Gary Indiana and attended Ball State. He is a super proud father of 3 splendid kids and grandfather to 6 beaming grandchildren. But wait, that's not all! In his rare leisure time, Marlon is an accomplished portrait artist, he loves horticulture (a garden is coming this year) and with his compassionate heart, he is involved in ministry. Lucky us, right?! You can be lucky too when you stop by the sandwich station and have a lovely moment with a lovely man. Oh, and a great sandwich to boot! Welcome aboard, Marlon, it is a pleasure to work with you.
