I wasn't expecting to get anything from #gamecon2018, yet here we are. Somehow bagged myself quite the haul. To your right -- a working replica Hidden Blade from Assassin's Creed for half its usual price, and to your left -- a pair of imitation tonfas made from light reinforced steel for even less. The batons are made only for roleplay and light sparring (probably, I'm guessing they'll dent against escrima sticks), but they're remarkably solid, and tough. Pretty sure they'll still hurt like bricks if I swung em at someone's head, lol

Someone politely referred to me as an Ensign at the con today. The photographer called me over, saluted, and asked for several pictures -- some with other cosplayers. I'll never get used to having photos taken of me. I don't do well posing, I get so self-conscious.

After weeks of toiling and worrying and mindlessly ruminating over whether I'd screw this up -- I finally got my sh^t together and published my first article fo...r the Inquisitr.
I'm proud of this one, as short as it is. Took a lot of effort to make sure I didn't break any rules and actually published something to standard. I haven't written a thing in 3 months, so jumping back to work was difficult, initially; I've gotten pretty rusty. The Inquisitr has a different, slightly more formal approach to news writing that I'm not used to... I like to entertain in this weird animated way I do, but with hard news and investigative reporting, that's discouraged, so there's a lot of stuff to learn, unlearn, and relearn.
I'm glad I already learned much of the basics from Moviepilot though. Despite all the controversies, I still owe them so much, so yeah I'm still so grateful months later, and still pretty happy about it. I don't think that's ever going to change, heh. But yeah, with the Inquisitr, this is going to take some getting used to, but that's fine. I love learning, and they're really good at what they do (news reporting), so I want to eventually imbibe and drink in all that valuable knowledge and experience as well. My only concern is traffic since I haven't heard anything about it yet (I dozed off at 4 a.m. this morning right when they were telling me about it, ahaha), but hopefully there wouldn't be any problems.

Thing is, I looked like Shinji before I wore braces. But now that my cheekbones are different (more Mikasa/Sakurako-san than Shinji), and I'm roughly in my mid-twenties, there's no telling if I'd still look cosplay-appropriate. I plan on getting that custom-made wig, but I'm worried about potentially just wasting my money. 
😕 Holish Cosplay Shop has some pretty kickass wigs and they've already done Asuka before. They could just as easily customize wigs for Rei and Shinji. And I am kind of tired of just being Deadpool all the time. What to do.

Here it is: my final article for Creators/Movie Pilot. It's still so sad. I'm just glad I spent my last piece writing an editorial, about one of my favorite sub...jects of all-time, instead of just some random news topic I probably wouldn't even remember several years down the line.
It's been an incredible run. Creators pretty much revolutionized the way online publishing works for this specific niche. And this site just gave us so much. I'm going to miss it.

I'm still considering writing more before November 30 just to end strong, but here's my thank you slash semi-goodbye letter anyway (to Creators.co). I've only b...een here for a short time but it was still the best 13 months of my life, career-wise. This was my first job. I'll never forget it. Creators gave me that magical push I needed back when I had absolutely no clue what to do with my life and I couldn't be any more grateful.
Massive thanks to the team and my mentor, Julian-Sebastian Gerdes, for guiding me every step of the way. Would never have grown this much in so short a time if not for your constant encouragements and help.

My first time writing for Now Loading (Movie Pilot's game journalism hub). I wrote on hack n slash and Dark Souls (which I haven't played yet but I'm mildly familiar with).
I'm just so glad they let me through. This was a struggle to write. Definitely way wayy out of my comfort zone. I love video games, and I've played my fair share across most platforms, console to portable to mobile and pc and back, throughout my short life. And I continue to be a massive fan. It...'s just that I rarely ever write about it, even if I do speak the jargon. That's why I spend more time on Movie Pilot. But Now Loading is such a wasted opportunity for me as a writer, I just had to use it at some point. They edited a bit more than usual here, that's my fault, there's some problems with this piece, but I'm relieved in the end it was still good enough.
But yay! Now I can finally say I work for Now Loading, and actually put that in my resume, lol
