CALL FOR ARTISTS!
East End Arts, Riverhead Business Improvement District, and East End Tourism Alliance are collaborating to create ArtReflex, a temporary art installation in Milton L. Burns Park (aka Grangebel Park) in downtown Riverhead featuring assorted elements of “Light.” The artists’ interpretations and designs will result in a tangible exhibit that will serve as a walkable, interactive experience.
Elements of light could include LED, incandescent, laser, fire, black light, day glow, and photo luminescent displays against a darkened sky. Art utilizing CDs are encouraged; selected artists will be provided 500 CDs for the construction of their installation. There will be a daytime, non-illuminated component, as well as a nighttime experience featuring illumination. The “light art” installation will be used during events throughout the year. Selected artists will receive a $350 stipend.

CALL FOR ARTISTS!
The Long Island Creative Vortex (Live) has teamed up again with East End Arts to create “Make You Look – A Show of Reflections,” a one-of-a-kind, interactive art exhibition which will be a part of East End Art’s 22nd Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival on Sunday, May 27th, 2018, from 12-5pm.
The childhood game “The Circle Game” (aka “Made You Look”) is the basis for this unique show. Each artist will receive a 36”x28” custom canvas that is cut into the shape of the circle game hand, on which they are to paint, collage, and/or add sculpture to, using the theme of “reflections” as inspiration. A mirror will be added to the finished work, inserted into the circular part, so that the viewer will reflect on themselves as they reflect on the art. Each year, thousands of people are drawn to the Community Mosaic – and will be drawn to your art!
Please send an email expressing your interest, as well as an example of your work, to firstname.lastname@example.org. Links to see your work is preferred, but JPEG images are accepted. Deadline for submissions is March 10th.
