A few exhibits were empty and there was quite a bit of construction, for their Chihuahuan exhibit, going on. Most of the food stands were not open so we did not eat anything there. The highlight of ou...r visit was watching the trainers exercising the 65 year old elephant. There was only one show that day but more are scheduled on the weekends. It is a nice zoo but nothing special. I would wait until the new exhibits are built to visit. Also, our Jeep’s GPS took us to a side road that borders the zoo so watch out. See More

So today My husband Volunteered at the event. This was planned a couple of weeks ago. I have to say he was very excited to be able to go and have fun. He was so looking forward to going that he made t...wo trips to the Zoo trying to get info for Volunteers. He was told by organizers that he would get an email. No email ever arrived. He showed up this morning at the scheduled time and parked in the handicapped parking. He was confronted by the organizers telling him he could not park their. He told them I am a handicapped Veteran and because you never sent an email letting me know what was expected I feel that I should be able to park there. They were very rude and a security guard was even brought to question him. Very frustrated my husband continued Volunteering with them harassing him. He finished the day and was told not to return tomorrow because of what happened in the morning. This to him was such an insult... My husband served 24 years in the Army and Has a Traumatic Brain Injury. He is going to school to help him with his injury... His life has forever changed but is still willing to give back to our community. This broke my heart and made me very angry when he came home with this news. I am sharing this because People need to know that Volunteers are special and need to be treated with respect and dignity. I am very upset and I hope that The Zoo will make sure this does not happen to anyone else. See More

I'm from Denver so I am used to a bigger zoo. I never expected it to be as big, and it was actually pretty nice. I wasn't planning on staying all day, just a couple hours and have my daughter trick-or...-treat. It met expectations and a little more because for it being a smaller zoo, they had more volunteers, more candy, and more activities for the kids to do. My daughter loved it, AND we made it through the whole park. I'm just disappointed I had to leave without getting a turkey leg. See More

This zoo has come such a long way. I remember when it was a 15 minute walk through the entire thing and there wasn’t much to see. I love how the animals have space in a more natural habitat now. EXCEL...LENT recycle, save the wolves, endangered species education all throughout the zoo. There were however several empty spaces that are not being utilized and there could be much more done with that “Asian Educational Center.” Such a great building with nothing in it but puzzles and a small tv. Love the water play, the tree house and the aviary amphitheater. See More

I love going to the Zoo since I was a little girl. I've been to many Zoo's in other cities and The El Paso Zoo has come such a long way from what it use to look like and the with so many new exhibits.... I've had a wonderful time at all of the events they've had this past year and the staff is amazingly dedicated, providing great care for the animals and educating the public. Keep up the wonderful work you all are doing. See More

We had a wonderful time at Boo at the Zoo yesterday! My 4 year old granddaughter enjoyed the trick or treating, of course, but getting there early, we enjoyed the animals that were out and roaming aro...und. We are annual zoo pass holders and appreciate that we didn't have to pay extra for the event. We appreciate the hard work and effort the staff put into setting it up and decorating for everyone to enjoy. I know there are improvements being made at the zoo, which may be hard for those that don't go often to see. I am originally from San Diego and of course it's no comparison, HOWEVER, I love that El Paso has a zoo to offer to their citizens and I'm happy to be one of those now. Thank you for the fun we had! See More

I just moved to the area after years in Phoenix. I expected it to be smaller, but was impressed with a lot of what I saw. Lots of potential to be great, but not there yet.

When we bought our tickets..., they told us 1/3 of the zoo was closed for construction, so I can't wait to see that once it is open. It was a Sunday, and we saw a lion interact with a trainer, fed a giraffe, and saw a sea lion training.

Big complaint was a lack of eating options. They have two restaurants. One was open at the very entrance, other was closed. Only food options were popcorn and "funnel cake fries" that were probably good when they were made hours before, but were just hard sticks with cinnamon sugar on them at 2 pm.

My kids had a blast and since we are members at another zoo we got in for half price and the kids got in for free. They loved the train ride and it wasn't over crowded like every other zoo we go too.

I love how the zoo is expanding and having new things like the bird show I loved it!!! The only thing that disappoints me is that the animals are always sleeping, but I love the improvements

I love our Zoo been a fan since I was a kid. It is an amazing place to take the kids and the entire family to enjoy a day at the Zoo and learn about the animals. It's gone through several renovations ...throughout the years and I can say today I'm proud of our Zoo!!! But I would like to see more renovations and expansions...alot of money is invested in other things in our city and I think our Zoo deserves the opportunity to compete with other really good looking Zoos in other states. Why not the animals deserve it and it would bring more jobs to the zoo. See More

Despite all the negative comments about the animals out of view or not in their exhibits... El Paso Zoo has come a long way since I was a little kid. I remember the Zoo being smaller, yet I was still ...excited to have the privilege to be there! Now I take my daughter to this same Zoo

We attended Boo at the Zoo for the 3rd year in a row :) I loved seeing the animals get their Halloween Treats. My daughter and I were up close to our favorite Giraffes as they were being fed So many costumes, booths (loved the Jurassic spot with all the fossils); Candy Everywhere!! It honestly gets better each year

Following week I attended Brew at the Zoo What a blast!! Brews and food tasting everywhere, even Dave N Busters showed up with games Good music, cool people, and the staff was Amazing I got to meet the sweeet dancing giraffe, and other volunteers; Kudos to the Event Coordinators! Can't wait for Next Year & the New HP Event

Coming from one who has been to many different zoo facilities across the US & beyond, this is a perfect zoo for those with young ones. Accessible bathrooms & great break areas scattered throughout the... grounds. Of course there’s always the habitats that have construction going on, so that is easily forgiven. What isn’t is rude employees, only ran into one, the young lady at the ticket counter was unnecessarily rude this morning. Mind you, it was an all weekend event. Long lines, lots of littles in costumes & a bunch of fun, somewhat controlled chaos. I don’t expect places to be perfect, but when the 3rd employee you encounter before you even get in the gate has the attitude of a tired toddler... extremely disappointing. & as for the military discount.. don’t expect to have dependents that are not a spouse get any discount of any sort. We found that rather disrespectful of our service men & women. Aside from that, a very pleasant 2+ hour walk through with the youngsters. See More

I think at the gate they should inform you what exhibits are down/what animals are unavailable to see. Roughly 1/3 of the animals were not available to view. The lady at the gate was telling the peopl...e ahead of us something about one of the exhibits, but told us nothing. I wish now we would have asked what she was saying. Price should be adjusted accordingly to how many exhibits are available to view. See More

Plus my 18 month baby was happy to see the animals and especially the gira...ffe. A place to stroll around and enjoy the weather. I liked it and will visit again. See More

We have received yet ANOTHER report of mysterious egg-tivity happening! This time the mysterious some-bunny left evidence in broad daylight right behind one of ...our volunteers! She was dutifully observing the Macaw in their new exhibit and did not see who left the egg-stra special gift. Though we believe the Macaws may have seen something- Rio, Festus and Mac have made no comment. 👀🔍🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️
