If you are not empathizing with and treating someone or a group as human beings just like you, then you are dehumanizing them and treating them like an "other". blacks, whites, Christians, atheists, liberals, or conservatives, it doesn't matter. Even if you do not like Trump or his supporters, you need to look through this. We have to talk to each other if we expect anything to get better.

How I learned the value of getting stories about the "other" from the source.

While growing up in the Lutheran church, I realized that most people misunderstood what Lutherans believe. A high school history textbook that confused Lutheranism with Calvinism shocked me the most; textbook writers are supposed to fact check, right?

Growing up with Asperger's, I have struggled with empathy. Despite what others falsely say, autistic men and women do have empathy and do care about others; we simply lack a common emotional language to express and understand feelings and emotions.
