As 2017 closes and 2018 sets its sails, let us reflect on our world and how we live our life. Spare a thought for those unfortunate souls that live in war torn countries, the homeless, the starving and the poor. I could call them underprivileged, but actually, they are down-right poor. They have nothing but the richness that lives in their soul, but that alone will not keep them alive because on the physical plane we need physical aids to help u...s survive.
Don’t believe everything you read, or hear, or even ‘see’. Investigate all things yourselves. Independent investigation of truth. Question everything, find your own truth, then live it. I have found that there is more that unites humanity than divides it. Check it out!
What’s that quote from Edmund Burke? Oh yes, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”. It’s time for all of us to look towards the light. We have had enough of darkness, haven’t we? Stand up for the downtrodden, stand up for justice, equality, unity and peace. It is time for the end of war and its ugly and heart-breaking results. Just look around you, we are all from the same stock, the same family; the family of humanity. To hurt one is to hurt all, even though we remain unaware of the consequences. If you think one person cannot do anything or make a difference on their own, think again. It’s time for action!
As you ponder on your new year’s resolution, ponder about being of service in some small capacity. Make 2018 the year of SERVICE. Plant only the rose of love in your hearts for all humanity, water it every day through meditation, prayer and reflection, then watch what happens. Unbelievable magic!
The Lord Buddha says “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.”
I am an idealist and I dream of a world free from hate, war and division. I can see that world very clearly, but it’s not going to happen without some hard work. Darkness is only the absence of light. As we usher in the new year, let’s switch on our inner light and work towards a better world for all. Let’s call it “The Army of Light”.
We take this opportunity to wish all our students and friends a blessed festive season.

The first article of the Universal Declaration says: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”
"Human Rights ...Day was established in 1948, and ever since that auspicious day it has stood as the first major stride forward in ensuring that the rights of every human across the globe are protected. From the most basic human needs such as food, shelter, and water, all the way up to access to free and uncensored information, such has been the goals and ambitions laid out that day."
Take some time today to celebrate and appreciate this day and go out there and make a difference in some small way.
