I created the video Dairy Is Scary after years of being disturbed by the commonplace practices within dairy industry, and noticing just how unaware of it—and hooked on dairy our society i...s!

You guys have been so awesome sharing the video and helping to make a huge impact! Just last year, The Fields Beneath, a café in London, UK credited the video as their catalyst for going dairy-free, replacing dairy milk with oat, almond, and soy. As well as Floris Beukers, who quit consuming dairy products after watching Dairy Is Scary, and later opened SNCKBR, the biggest plant-based, vegan restaurant in Europe, in the Netherlands! ✊🏼🌱 I’ve also received THOUSANDS of messages and comments from people who went dairy-free, became vegan or were inspired to become an activist themselves after watching! 🗣🔥

In Defense of Animals put the first Dairy Is Scary billboards (sixty of them 💥!) up across Los Angeles, California last year.

They also had a mobile Dairy Is Scary billboard drive around the #SuperBowl2019. 🚚🏟🌪

Then, The Save Movement put the billboard up in Burlington, Ontario 👀📍🇨🇦 (where this photo was taken, also the city I lived in when I first learned about the many ‘standard’ practices within the dairy industry, ditched dairy, and began speaking out about it)....

Then, this past January, activists with Halifax Vegan Campaigns worked together to successfully raise funds for the billboards to go up in Halifax, Nova Scotia this year! ☄️

And it continues, with many more Dairy Is Scary billboards in the works to be shared in different towns and cities across the world, thanks to activists and caring people working together to make it happen. ❤️

I’m relieved that so many people are finally starting to listen AND speak out for the animals who are still being exploited for ‘dairy’, in an ugly industry with beautiful marketing. 🥛👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🎬☠️

When I finally learned the truth about what happens to millions of cows who are bred and raised for dairy production, I spent years trying to educate people around me—only to be ignored, mocked and have my words disregarded. Not even the youth worker assigned to help me through my chosen transition to live on my own at age 17 would hear me out for even a minute—all she had to say was how much she liked cheese. ⁉️🤷🏼‍♀️ Friends, family and people around me just didn’t ‘get it’. They either didn’t believe it, or weren’t willing to spend the time to understand. And so, they didn’t care. They didn’t care to change their choices from choices that directly hurt animals (for food, drinks and luxury products), to choices that don’t. Until I finally made the video Dairy Is Scary, and since then, a few million people have listened and considered what myself and so many others have been trying to make known about what animals in the dairy industry are going through.
