The staff could not have been nicer. The place was pretty slammed, as most of the spots within 10 blocks of the stadium were, but they were working just as hard as they could to serve us. It did take a good bit of time for our drinks. It seems there was only one bartender - and of course everyone there was ordering alcohol, so that is always an issue. You can always second guess a place and say they should have more staff working, but you never know how many might have called in sick, or just not shown up, so we tried to keep an open mind.
The food was good and actually plentiful.
Overall I was impressed with the staff and how nice they were, in spite of the increased demands for the day. The food was decent. We would probably visit again if we visit Charlotte in the again in the future.
Of all. Because of that, our waiter couldn’t hear and put in the wrong order. Wine orders were incorrect too, and the manager gave our poor waiter a h...ard time. It wasn’t his fault ! It was also 1000 degrees inside so we were sweating ... The food wasn’t that great either .. not impressed at all... won’t be returning or recommendi
Their service is below par and even though they have good food it can't compensate
So, I still recommend this place because of the good, it really is amazing, but the service was horrible.
Stopped in to Essex gastropub after enjoying the Nutcracker
Uptown was somewhat busy on a Saturday and we were surprised we were able to get right in and be seated. We were a party of 4. After being seated my wife and her Mother went to use the restroom. Both came back complainin
One of the biggest red flags for any restaurant
My daughter wanted the Korean BBQ pork sandwich. As she ordered the waiter proceeded to explain how the Kitchen was out of the larger size buns. He said they bake them there they and ran out. The kitchen could however still make the sandwich but on two small slider Buns instead. I have to wonder how a restaurant
Then came the next issue. Our food was served in "steps". Sorry but my years of restaurant
IMO part of the dining experience
IMO the portion sizes are very small for the amount of money charged. They are almost appetizer sized. I felt like I was watching the TV show CHOPPED where the judges tell the cooks "hey this is supposed to be the main course. Don't you think it's too small?" Also you only get the single item as there were no sides included. In our case it was two slider sized bbq pork sandwiches
While the food was tasty, the other things combined to sour the whole experience
