Enjoy the Journey in 2018!

Behold, I am doing a new thing;now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?I will make a way in the wildernessand rivers in the desert.

We recently received this wonderful report from one of the most creative small groups ever to make the Eternal Route 66 Journey:
Hi Chuck,
I just wanted to let you know our care group completed Eternal Route 66 earlier this fall after two years! We typically met on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month and took time off for holidays and the summers, along with a couple hurricanes. It was a fun and enjoyable time with everyone as we kicked off with breakfast two years ago rep...licating breakfast at Lou Mitchell's and ending with dessert of ice cream sundaes like those served at Fair Oaks Pharmacy in S. Pasadena. We combined your book with the video and pictures from my trip down Route 66 in 2014. Before each "lesson" we had fellowship and regional food specialties and Route 66 restaurant specialties. Some of the highlights included horseshoes from central Illinois; toasted ravioli, slingers, and home made frozen custard representing St. Louis; grape items from central Missouri; Oklahoma onion burgers; 6th Street Specials from Amarillo; plus lots of diner classics and southwestern specialties. We even replicated sweet potato soup and the chocolate tacos from El Tovar on our Grand Canyon side trip. An example of God's perfect timing was that Christmas was just as we crossed into the New Testament in New Mexico and could read the Christmas story as we celebrated with New Mexican food and biscochitos, the traditional New Mexico cookie served at Christmas time.

We also had fellowship with a couple side trip evenings where we watched the films "Cars" and "Grapes of Wrath". Thank you for writing your book and providing the video and discussion guide as it enhanced our meetings where we shared God's love and bonded closer together (and, we continue to do so)! We definitely enjoyed the journey!

Many blessings to you and Ann!

In God's love,

David Du Mez - Care Group Leader - Calvary Assembly of God - Kissimmee, Florida

We are currently praying about re-publishing our book, Eternal Route 66, with a new publisher. The book is a road trip across Historic Route 66 and through the 66 books of the Bible. Readers are invited to travel “America’s Highway” from Chicago to Los Angeles, with me and my wife, Ann, making brief stops along the way in key passages from every book of the Bible, focusing on God’s purpose for people. Here is an inspiring report from an ER66 small group leader, who, along with her husband and mother, traveled the entire Route!

Reverend Chuck

Just wanted to email you to say what amazing journey my husband, mother, and myself experienced on our Route 66 journey. I am so glad God led m...e to do your Bible Study "Eternal Route 66". This inspired us to take your book on the Mother road.

We started off at Lou Michell's, great french toast and wonderful staff there. Talked to two volunteers in Dwight IL (Service station) all about your book, our faith, and that is what prompted us to venture out on this journey. Gave them info on how to get your book and do the study with their small group. Met a man, George, son-in-law of owner who passed away, which George is keeping a service station (Sinclair) as collectables and gift shop in Gay Parita MO. Met an amazing elderly women, MaryLou at Elk City OK. She shared her faith and life with us, as well, as we did the same. Then we met Hazel and Theresa at U Drop Inn, where I bought my signed copy of "Eternal Route 66" by you - Thank you! Hazel read your book and loved it. Shared with Theresa she needs to read it and she promised she would get a book and read it. The amazing place in Groom TX "The Cross" and all the statues of our Risen Lord. This was breath taking.

Stayed in the LaPosada (stayed in Mary Colter's room) wonderful and pretty there. Grand Canyon - and landscaping wow and wow the views. God's creation, I am at awe.

The SnowCap Cafe great time and wonderful treat. The Burma-Shave signs so cool.

Stayed at Wigwam Motel in San Bernadino CA, talked with the owner now, since 2005, Mr Patel, where him and his wife run this. Gave him my first copy of your "Eternal Route 66" book, I signed and put my city & state and wrote instructions for who ever reads this sign it and pass it along. Mr Patel said he sold a case of your books. Mr Patel promised me to have his guests the opportunity to read your book and pass it alone. My prayer is that whoever reads it takes Jesus into their hearts and it finally reaches back to you with bunches of names on it.

Attached are some pictures - We truly enjoyed our journey and we Thank you for inspiring us to do this. I praise God for His direction in my life.

God bless you,

Tim & Cheri Buss & Nancy Shaible

Here's a recent report from a group leader in Pennsylvania: A group of nine of us just finished the "Eternal Route" 66 study. We used RightNow Media for the videos each week. I am sure grateful that we did this study. You have been a wonderful mentor and spiritual encourager for us. The study was well-received and I feel we all have grown closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ. So, thanks again writing this book. Many lives will be changed.

Three of us are going to travel the "Mother Road," Route 66 this summer all the way from Chicago to California. I am praying God will use us to share our faith along the journey. We've got maps, GPS, and Tom Snyder's book. I am taking your book to give to my nephew, who is of Muslim faith, I pray he receives this book and his faith accepts our Lord and Savior.

Thanks to fellow roadies Don and Betsy Slauson for this great report: "We completed Eternal RT 66 last night. It was a glorious ending. Lively discussion. It was a sight to behold. I was so proud of our friends.
Thank you and Ann for all your efforts. In your video, lesson #8 last night, I wore the same shirt you had on. They all laughed."

Recently received this encouraging note from a reader: Chuck,
I just finished reading Eternal Route 66 this morning. I have read a mile marker (or two) every day since I received a copy in August. Thank you. It has been enlightening and enjoyable. I was pleased to note that most of the scriptures you cited had already been marked in my Bible. The ones that were not marked are now.

Received this great email today, and was given permission to share:
"Chuck, just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed studying "Eternal Route 66" with our Life Group. It was very interesting and provided spiritual guidance, as well. It was great getting to know you and Ann through your study! We loved how you correlated your travel down Route 66 with God's Eternal Route 66."
Thanks again,
Mary Venable
Thanks Mary, glad you and your group enjoyed the Journey!

We highly recommend La Mesa Motel in Santa Rosa, NM.

In this unprecedented day of terror attacks on innocent people by radical Islamist extremists, Christians around the world must realize that this is a spiritual battle to be fought first and foremost on a spiritual level. The mission of Pray for Protection is to urge the Church to prioritize praying for protection of their community, region, nation, and world from ruthless attacks.
1 Timothy 2:1-6a, 8 says, "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession a...nd thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. … Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. Recently received this encouraging email from an ER66 enthusiast and obtained permission to reprint:

Hi Chuck!

This week Mary and I finished studying your book "Eternal Route 66". What a great journey it has been for us! We thank The Holy Spirit so much for inspiring you, Ann, and everyone else that was involved to bring this course into existence.

We are sure that it will affect so many lives, including those who are already Christians, and also those who may not have yet accepted Jesus as Their Lord and Savior.

My Pastor has already asked me for my opinion on the course, and I endorsed it whole-heartedly! He then approached me regarding the possibility of my leading Small Group Bible Study on "Eternal Route 66" at our church beginning in early May! I will be turning the course materials over to him on Sunday, so that he can preview the course, and approve it.

In Christ, Bernie....A Little Bit South of Grass Valley, CA
