#EUbudget 🇪🇺: The Commission is proposing a pragmatic, modern, long-term budget for the 2021-2027 period. This includes increased spending on the following area...s: digital transformation and networks, programmes for young people such as Erasmus and the European Solidarity Corps, external border management, migration and asylum, research and innovation, as well as security and external action. Meanwhile, agriculture and cohesion funding will continue to retain their predominant position in terms of funding but will be modernised to make them more efficient and to target support to where it is needed most.
The decision on the future long-term EU budget will then fall to the Council, acting by unanimity, with the consent of the European Parliament.
