New blog post up!

Beauty, it’s a topic most of us have discussed. What is it? Who has it? It seems to be an exclusive, unobtainable thing. We’re told that beauty fades, that you have it at one time in your life and that it leaves. I don’t believe that. I think beauty is ever evolving. As we grow …

It's been a while since I posted something!

After a two month blog hiatus I’m back. For the last two months I’ve been thinking about my truth, and what it is. How I can convey it to people and what it means to me. My vision for a portrait studio is becoming more clear. The goal I am working towards. The gift I …

There’s something to be said for being authentic in your every day life. Not just the one people see online. Radiating positive energy, kindness and joy, Mari and I had a great time during her maternity session. It was laid back and open to a certain playfulness. Mari really came into her own during...

“Last year I started figure modeling for art classes. I’m plus-sized, so I was a little worried about being nude. I was nervous about everyone seeing my stoma...ch, and my thighs, and all my fat. But apparently my curves are fun to draw. In the classroom, all the features I saw as negative were viewed as assets. One student told me that it’s no fun to draw straight lines. It’s been liberating for me. I’ve always been insecure about my belly. But now my belly has been part of so many beautiful pieces of art.”

Last part in the 4 part series about becoming comfortable in front of the camera. This is for everyone who hates being photographed. Let's make it easier on you!

You might look at other people’s photos on social media and wish you had the confidence to do that. Or maybe you just need a photo for your bio but have been avoiding it because the thought of having your photo taken is worse than going to the dentist. You’re starting to sweat thinking about …

Do you ever worry your photos won’t turn out like the ones you see on your social media? Maybe you feel like you won’t look as pretty, put together or natural as them? Well there is good news! You don’t have to worry about that, because they shouldn’t be exact replicas. A photo session is …
