Oh boy....
Peter Lucht stopped by today! :)
The piano sounds amazing in this space :) Nothing like a mini private concert from Scott Kirby!

Every year for the first two weekends in August this town of 6,000 puts on eight nights of music under the stars. The open air venue, relaxed 'bring your own' food and drink policy, and early season p...ass prices enables families to enjoy big name entertainment on a budget. A large selection of food and beverage vendors serve everything from beer and pizza to wine and shrimp cocktail. The Festival has featured a long list of legendary performers like Steve Miller, Kenny Loggins, Jonny Lang, Ziggy Marley, and many more. And the Spokane Symphony Orchestra is featured on both Sundays, first with a program geared toward family with children, then as the Festival Finale. Always a fabulous show. See More

This is a fun event and I have never been disappointed with the bands. The only annoyance is the hours you have to stand in line in order to get a good spot to set once inside. You have the option t...o show up early in the morning and grab a number that gets you seated early, which means I would be in Sandpoint at 8am in hopes I will get that number, concert starts at 6pm, that is a long time to hang out until the concert begins.Ticket price is not worth the hassle. Folks if you have all day and you want to enjoy good music, good food at a laid back event I highly recommend it. See More

Are you kidding me. I drove over a hour and was told by your shit staff that we could go into just the brewfest without buying a $50 ticket for a band that no one cares about. Get it together. Horrid ...facility and horrid staff. There also is no info online that clarifies anything. See More

A gorgeous setting and primo music make this a world class concert series. Delicious food booths, beer and wine available or BYO. There are many downsides, starting with parking in neighborhoods poten...tially several blocks away. Anothet zis that unless you are a season ticket holder or major donor, plan on waiting for hours in line to get even remotely in the middle or front for best view and sound. And even at that, you have to have a low back chair or blanket. You can rent cheap, uncomfortable chairs from them or BYO, but if you have trouble getting out of low chairs and/or can't get on:off of a blanket due to any physical limitations, you will be way off to the side where higher chairs are allowed. There is bleacher seating if you can handle that, way in the back, but with good sight lines. Even the handicapped platform is way off to the side in the back. The other problem is that there seems to be a lot of people at these concerts that are there to socialize instead of listening and enjoying the concert, so paying the high ticket price to wait in line for hours in the sun; sit off to the side; have children running around Willy Nilly with glow sticks and loud conversations all around, it is not worth the effort in my opinion. There are always multiple "speakers" leading up to the intro to each band, much of which is "inside" info, i.e. only those intimately involved will even know who/what they are talking about or care. Not very welcoming or professional. I love Sandpoint and love to support the series, but I won't be back. See More

The Festival at Sandpoint rocks! I have attended at least 2 festival shows per season for the last 20 years. Beautiful venue, great food from local vendors. Incredible world class talent delivered to my backyard. Sandpoint is lucky to have this awesome event! See More

We'll get there early, very early or be satisfied with sitting way off to the right side of the stage. We were a full hour early has really bad seating. Also parking sucks. Add an hour to park. The f...ood court is five stars, the venue is three stars, parking one star, staff + food court staffing in off the charts = six stars. I'll go back but three hours earlier. We had a great time dancing on the side area. See More

Festival at Sandpoint is always a blast. Every year there is always a band or two we want to see, but being 500 miles away makes it difficult for us to do annually. We've made the trek six or seven ...times over the years and every show has been top notch. Food booths are awesome as well. If you love music in a beautiful setting and great food... its a must do. What an amazing venue right on the water. The wonderful variety of food vendors gives great options to taste Sandpoint as well. The bars aren't shabby either!

Fantastic group of people running this show. All the Hard Work is not going to be overlooked and go unappreciated by the heart of Sandpoint this year either!

We arrived on Sunday at 1 to pick up our entry number. Waited for an hour and decided to leave. Good thing since they changed and cancelled the 1 o'clock distribution. Too bad they didn't let the ...CUSTOMERS know. What poor practice. Since this wasted our time we were unable to do the shopping in Sandpoint that we had planned. Too bad for the merchants.

I'm upping my star rating. We were there for the Spokane symphony. The music was wonderful (what we could hear of it). The director was a kick to listen to and watch. I give them 5 stars.

However I have to give the audience boobs 0 stars...the twenty-something duo in front of us that chatted during the entire 1st half until my wife had a talk with them. I don't understand how they could give the violinist a standing ovation (not that he didn't deserve it) when they weren't listening. Or the guy behind us that insisted on talking to his son(?) in a normal tone of voice. Or the person behind my wife playing music of his iPad during one quiet segment. Or the two ladies on my left laughing at some story they were telling. Or the ambient noise level coming from the food vendors. Destroyed any of the quieter passages. Maybe a more appropriate selection of pieces wouldn't have had any phrases below a mezzoforte for this audience.

The rousing rendition of Stars & Stripes Forever is always a nice closer with fireworks in the background. The fireworks show was good. It would have been more dramatic if it ended at the same time as the piece. Still it was entertaining.
