As a team and a community, we have been grieving the recent events in Charlottesville. We are reminded that we have so much work to do to champion love over hate in the pursuit of equality for all. Racism and bigotry are in our communities, and we cannot deny that. But we stand for equality and love.
Hate and discrimination have no place here. We are posting this because racism persists when we stay silent. In situations where ...our friends, neighbors, and community members are the targets of hate, discrimination, and oppression, we cannot turn a blind eye or sit by idly. We have to speak up and name it. Racism is real, and it has no place here.
What does this mean for our community of creatives? How do we choose love over hate, especially when it comes to situations that we watch unfold, like Charlottesville?
When these conversations make us uncomfortable, we have to lean in more. We have to be present and actively choose love over hate. Show up, and speak up. That is where it starts. Today and every day, we are showing up and speaking up for those who feel marginalized and fearful. We stand with you.
We will always choose love over hate. We rise by lifting others. | Lettering by: Josefina of @loveoffering
Thank you again @risingtidesociety for having me last month as your speaker. I had the honor of sharing my #entrepreneurial journey with a room full of creatives including a great friend who surprised me @kicha777 to support me! Thank you linda! I shared some #SEO tips and how you can use your blog to get found online.
