Hey little buddies,
To get you excited about our new album soon to be released, I thought I would just remind you that Formalists were once an emo/folk band. So for your listening pleasure we've put up our first ep 'Lovers On A Bus', on Bandcamp for free. Get it while the fats still sizzling. https://formalists.bandcamp.com/album/lovers-on-a-bus
Guys. I invited 2700 of my closest friends to this show. Why are only 67 attending?
Whether it's one of our historic arena anthems, or one of our intimate bedroom bangers, we always like to play late in the evening. How late? 3 am earliest. Which is why we're pleased to announce that we'll be playing a relatively early show this NXNE Saturday. So get there early and don't you dare come late.
Alright! HEre is a link to our NxNE show. If you care to party all night long with us then come. You'll be thrilled!!!
Formalists heeft een link gedeeld.
So we were reaching into our pockets. ya know, just some pockets. Ya know, just our polly pockets. We were just wanting to pull out some of that sticky pocket fluff. That was all, We were just wanting to pull out some of that tricky stic...ky, pocket fluff. That sticky, icky nine doors, ya know? Just some pocket fluff. Just some juicy poppy punch.

And So here it is, by way of special request from our main boy Brice. One of our new tracks - Fughetta.

So it was settled by a unanimous vote on yesterday's eve. We now know which new track off 6 Possible Illusions Prior to Death we're going to release early. Want to know which track it's gonna be? Well ask Brice! Also shout out to our main buds AVG PrivacyFix, Doodle God, and we can't forget Bingo Bash.
Next week we're going to undry all of your cracked, pasty whistles with a sneak peak from the new album. Which one do you guys want to hear first?

Also instead of replying on this thread let us know in a private message. Right now our inbox is filled with shit from Landmark Entertainments and YourShot Booking offering us amazing opportunities to play for industry professionals.
Hey I'm pleased to finally announce the date of the release of our new album. I suspect this album is going to get us signed to the same label as Rush, and you guys are gonna be like "Those guys used to rehearse down the street from me!", ...and you guys will be like "Those guys all wear pompadours now!" and you're kids are going to be like "Gurf, gurf" because that's how your kids will talk, and also everyone will live under the sea, so long sentences will be really hard to say because you and your children will get a mouthful of pond water if you say anything else. Pond water if you're lucky. Maybe pond water if you make a killing as a shrimp monger. Most people will live in Lake Ontario, shrimp-less and disenchanted.

And this is how humans and seals will finally settle their differences.

Just got in the masters for the new album, and things are sounding large. Soon enough we'll all get to have a listen.

Formalists new album will be coming out before you can snap your fingers. The presumption is that it takes you 79 days or more to snap your fingers. More details to come, but if you can do the math, mark this date in your calenders.
Thanks to The Bevdale Mansion for all the great parties over the years. It's tough to put on house shows, and we here at Formalists have nothing but respect for you dudes for making them happen.
Pitchfork Media brings its history of journalistic integrity and commitment to excellence in this recent interview they conducted with us - the band currently known as Formalists. For your reading pleasure I have copied the interview from it's original home on Peachfolk Media's webpage and pasted it below.

'PF – Dear The Formalists. Are you well?

F – We are well

PF – The Formalists, may I ask... one more time if you are well?

F – Please continue

PF – It is with little hesitation that I will ask this question. The Formalists are you very well?

F – Yes, very well indeed

PF – How do you feel, though?

F – We feel well to the touch.

PF – Tell me The Formalists since we so rarely are given the chance. Do you feel very well?

F – We feel exceptional in form

PF – I will have my assistant come in for a squeeze then. Assistant!

Ass - I am here

PF – Of course. I nearly forgot, but … of course, everything is still forthcoming … You have never left my side. You have never abandoned me. Assistant, would you mind offering a squeeze to The Formalists?

Ass – How do they feel?

PF – My hands tremble in anticipation of this question, though that is for you to learn, not I to tell you. Still, are The Formalists well? I can’t be sure.

PF – The Formalists … are … you well?

F – We are, in a sense, well

PF – Ahhh, now I believe them to be sensibly well

Ass – Ask them this! Ask them for clarity!

PF – Assistant! Are you nearby, you sound distant!?

Ass – I am present

PF – Of course. I nearly forgot, but all words are gifts, richly flavoured by the lips which birthed them.. Multiplying and decaying with space. Cloaked in an acoustic fog. The Formalists are well, sensibly well.

Ass – I can now tell that The Formalists have assured you that they are well. Though we cannot know, not absolutely.

PF – It is with a question that we will know. Without digging, there can be no earth. The Formalists may I ask on what grounds you are well?

F – If you were to ask us on what grounds we were well, an answer would be greatly possible.

PF – The Formalists, on what grounds are you well?

F – That we are atop, and not below. That we are beneath and not above. It is enough that we do not have to know.

Sean Traczyk says – All grounds are great if no mountains emerge.

Daniel Korn says – In the wind there is knowledge of all shapes past, though not present and not future. It is through repetition that expectation is relieved of disappointment.

William Hunter says – To release the body of a sense is to castrate. But where there is sensing there has been no castration, and so there can be no release.

Joseph Landau says - Because our eyes regard, and our feet ponder.

PF – The Formalists I am so happy to have you here in the studio.

F – Thank you

PF – Thank you The Formalists.

F – Thank you

PF– The Formalists, would you care for a squeeze? You? A squeeze?

F – Why, we haven’t a care in the world

PF – Assistant! It is hard to misconclude. The Formalists would certainly be interested in a squeeze

Ass – I am thrilled to hear it

PF – The Formalists how do you feel?

F – Assistant how do we feel?

Ass – Thank you for coming The Formalists.'

Happy Easter guys. Fun fact: Did you know on this day 100 years ago, jesus was burned at the stake for being a vampire? Fun fact.

Hey and if you don't celebrate easter then merry 4/20. Fun Fact.

In other fun news, we have finally finished tracking 6 Possible Illusions Prior To Death. For those who said we didn't have the guts, you were dead wrong about us. If you want to hear us debut some album material. Then come out Bevdale this Saturday. There's going to be snacks. Fun fact.
If you vote for us, we'll bite off everyone's fingers. Long lineups of people going into to booths with fingers and coming out with naught but thumbs. Which is what you'll see.
Hey everyone,
Here's a recent interview we did with the Globe and Mail.

'Long has it been clear that the Formalists are a band with exquisite taste, which is why we here at the Globe and Mail's food and dining section have recently conducted an interview with the Formalists to discuss their relationships with flavour, music, and each other. Here it is, for your delight:

G&B - Thank you for taki...ng the time to meet with me here at the Globe and Mail's Food and Fine Dining Section. If it's okay with you I have some questions. Shall I ask?

F - Wow, that's really good for us.

G&B - Thanks a lot.

F - We make no bones about it. We really appreciate this time of mutual speaking that we are enjoying together, in unity.

G&B - That's wonderful to hear. Here is a question I'm sure our readers are dying to know. What are the favourite foods of the Formalists?

F -

Will Hunter says - Cajon tuna paddies with ranch dip is what really lights my heath from Christmas until Easter Monday.

Joseph Landau says - rare, succulent, juicy and exotic pears from all over the world gives me astronomic pleasures in eating.

Sean Traczyk says - Imagine a fresh pacific muscle drifting too and then fro along the valleys and peaks of a forgotten dream. Never to be truly tasted, this is something that I often enjoy.

Daniel Korn says - Pastas cut and then boiled into the letters of distant alphabets, like japanese. What is ever expressed I can be heard wondering aloud?

G&B - Wow! what interesting flavours! Here's a question direct from one of our viewers in Moncton. Stanley are you there?

Stanley - Yes I am hear. I would like to begin by saying hello to the Formalists.

F - Ola Stanley, of Moncton

S - The Formalists, you are wise, and magnificent. Here is question for you. Are both music and flavour not but a wink on the moist eyeball of a moment?

F -

Will Hunter says - Time, an honourable yet ultimately unfaithful magician

Joseph Landau says - Music like taste may function as both the salty, and the sweet. Only by sucking tenderly will it's true intentions be revealed.

Sean Traczyk says - A truth that is ever present was never really a truth at all. It is this that inspires my hunger.

Daniel Korn - Thank you Stanley, it is true that all things are fleeting, beneath the ever present gaze. Flavour as well always gazes.

S - yes, it was I, who asked that.

G&B - Thank you Stanley. This next question is for Stanley, and I'm sure the listeners here at the Global Mail's fine wine and dining section would be intrigued?

- With a puff Stanley was no more -

G&B - The Formalists hah hah hah hah, it's so great to be present here in the moment with you.

F - ha ha ha ha, ho ho ho ho. what flavours this moment exudes! ha ha ha ha ha

G&B - hah hah hah hah hah hah

F - Magnificent! ha ha ha ha, ho ho ho ho

G&B - so delightful.

F - Please enjoy this dish we prepared.

G&B - Thank you, you are a dish as well. A dish best served here at the Globe in Mail's fine cuisine column.

F - Yes thank you, for inviting us onto your plates, and your withins.

G&B - Thank you, for all who have sensed and been sensed in these moments hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah hah

Mine and Sean's (Shawn?) old place - The Bevdale Mansion is finally being torn down to make room for a string of pizza pizzas, otherwise known as a pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza. This will be our first show in some time and the last ...show that we're ever going to play on this property (unless our pizza pizza contract gets extended). So please come. The Bevdale shows are always excellent, and if you haven't been to one yet then this is your last chance. Also playing will be the house bands Sleep For The Nightlife and Terrorista (Band), as well as We Were Heads and Daniel's other band New Stems. Like all the bevdale shows there's no cover, although you should bring healthy snacks and sugar free drinks for the bands - some of these guys won't even touch Lay's potato chips. Meer weergeven

Hey bros, buds, borneo turtles, babies (literal) and babes (attractive women), and of course any other odd readers whom I may have missed. I hope you don't mind but I wanted to practice some writing on you all. I know I don't normally alliterate but as it happens I'm trying to improve my lyrical skills. Because as it happens I'm no longer the big dog on campus. In fact as it happens Big Will H...unter/Grello? has been writing dangerously poignant limericks. Limericks that are threatening to shame my neo-emo lyrics back to where they came from (the armpits of Connor Oburst/whoever the singer of death cab for cutie is). Limericks that I'm sure you'll all be touched by. I recommend that the literal babies, and Borneo Turtles stop reading here. If there's anyone left please enjoy.

A Habitual Man - Will Hunter

There was a man with habits well hidden
Who engaged in sexual practices forbidden
Twas neither femdom nor scat
Rather sex with a cat
But he stopped when she bore him a kitten

Thanks Will!

Looks like everyone in Formalists is really good at bass. As a matter of fact we are not.
