Check out Night Sun by Richard Birkin, an interactive installation exhibited at QUAD on the FORMAT15 launch night; 12th March, 6:30pm-8:30pm.

The installation relies on viewer participation, leading them into a mulitvisual experience of music, spoken words and photographs. The evidence of a survivor's memories, in a city veiled by darkness forces the viewer to visualise the events, filling in the pieces to decipher the story.

Second last day of my trip. Two more 'episodes' to go shooting the 'Bollywood Cabs'. The road crossings I find almost look biblical. Its too much sometimes. Onl...y shooting between 5 and 6.30pm helps and lets the flash light catch up with the ambient outside the cab. Plus the powering of three flashguns with external battery packs only works for an hour or so (one man band).... Seven trips over 4 years and I still get nervous before I shoot.

Getting ready for portfolio reviews next weekend @ FORMAT International Photography Festival. Got a lab that does very good machine 12'x8' prints for 20 rupees (20pence) each. Getting a book dummy ready + prints from other projects. Just collected another 67 prints. Flight back and all the prints are getting heavy.... Might send some by post.
