A group of haystacks caught fire around 2:30 this morning. The fire is located at County Road 9 and 30 in NE Loveland.

Due to the number of bales involved, fire control of the haystacks is a slow process involving LFRA resources and heavy equipment. The fire continues to smolder and release large volumes of smoke. The Larimer County Health Department is aware and monitoring the situation.

Rising temperatures today day create air /smoke inversions that trap smoke at lower levels, which will impact homes and businesses in the Loveland community.

You will likely see smoke in the air during the day from this fire. If you see a confirmed fire with flames, please do not hesitate to dial 911.
