Went yesterday for lunch 08/10/17, first thing that struck us was that it was empty and looked shut. Menu has changed since we were last there and it’s become a little bit expensive! Food looked and s...melt delicious until we started eating my youngest fish was under cooked so rightly so he wouldn’t eat it and my chicken was under cooked and unfortunately I didn’t notice until halfway through eating so I have been poorly overnight and today 😔 shame as the last time we went it was cheap but the food was amazing! Chef needs to make sure the food is cooked properly. We won’t return. See More

Went to this venue 1 week ago. The first thing that struck me was that the car park was empty, this was in a busy weekend lunch time period.
When entering the building only two people were having, and by the look on the lady's face who had just been served her food, she was clearly unimpressed, so unimpressed that she and her companion left within minutes, leaving their food untouched.
We waited at the bar, to be served by an obnoxious bar tender that told us that as we hadn't visited in just over a year that the pub had been taken over and had changed to be a more up market venue with a better clientele.

Firstly, don't tell me because I was a regular with the old management that I'm not good enough to spend my money there.

Secondly, don't change something that's not broken, the reason why it used to be busy was because it was reasonably priced with well presented pleasant staff. Unlike it is now, I live locally and the car park is always empty.

And thirdly, it's typical that management respond with excuses and contradicting responses as to why the pub is poor on most levels.

Excellent food and service was just brilliant.

Had a good banter with Charlotte which just made even better...

What can you dislike about this place? Sitting by the river, watching the boats, ducks go by, good food, cold beer (very hot day), sitting with friends eating good food with friendly service

New owners, new menu & the food is superb. Have literally just eaten here after hearing it had been taken over & felt I needed to say how fab it was. Could not fault it at all - the food is just, quality ingredients, perfectly cooked. I would give more stars but it won't let me! Compliments to the chefs/staff. Brilliant- will def be returning. Last meal was inedible, although the meal was taken of the bill this was done without investigation, hesitation or apology. Seemed like something they had done many times. Very strange feeling as its ...a pub I grew up running round the garden and enjoyed food for many years. See More
