Very often we do the things that unnerve us because we have to. We didn't plan these things and we didn't seek them out. Life brought the storm to us. Maybe you're facing something like that today. You're having to do something that scares you, something you'd have never chosen to do a week ago or a year ago.
Try this: do more than face your fear. Make up your mind to pursue Jesus in the midst of whatever it is that has you wondering how you'll get through it.

Jesus comes to us in our trouble and fear. We cry out and Jesus shows up. He moves toward us. But in his coming to us there is point at which he invites us to take steps that will move us toward him... Jesus comes to us in our distress not simply to get us out of trouble. Jesus comes to bring us closer to him. And that may be very uncomfortable for us, even threatening. It will require stepping away from something cherished and safe and taking steps in his direction.
