“Many people are pontificating about mutual aid, but Freedom U. is a...ctually doing the work.”
- Nsé Ufot
Executive Director of the New Georgia Project and Professor of Human Rights at Freedom University
On Monday, our staff embarked on the NINTH weekly trip of our “FU Coronavirus Grocery Run,” but it was the first time in the pouring rain! Their tired feet and wet clothes were worth the signs of love and appreciation from our students who received their requested groceries from Freedom University and fresh produce from our friends at 8arm and Living Walls.
We still need your help in funding these vital grocery runs that provide food, medicine, and supplies to 200 undocumented neighbors in Atlanta.
If you have the means, please consider donating to our ongoing Grocery Run Fundraiser: gf.me/u/xuzh23

We send a million virtual hugs and our deepest appreciation for our ...2020 Commencement Speaker, Lorella Praeli!
Lorella Praeli is a freedom fighter, movement builder, and adaptive athlete. She is the President of Community Change Action and Vice President of Community Change. Lorella is passionate about building collective power to win transformative policy change at all levels of government, so that people can thrive. Most recently, she was the ACLU’s Deputy National Political Director, where she fought to defend and expand the rights of immigrants and refugees. Prior to joining the ACLU, Lorella mobilized the Latinx vote as Hillary Clinton’s National Latino Vote Director.
Lorella moved from Peru to Connecticut with her family at the age of ten. Her life was transformed after coming out as “undocumented and unafraid” and organizing undocumented students to step into their power in Connecticut. She then served as United We Dream’s Director of Advocacy and Policy, where she led the campaign to implement DACA and was part of the team that persuaded the Obama administration to protect four million undocumented Americans through DAPA.
We were so lucky to have Lorella join us in our graduation ceremony today, and her profound words reminded our students that they are the power inside themselves! See More
Congratulations to Freedom University's CLASS OF 2020!
On Sunday, w...e hosted our annual graduation ceremony on video conference to ensure everyone's health and safety. This photo captures just a few of us who attended, but everyone was all smiles!
We are also proud to announce that 11 of our 22 students won full scholarships to college! Please join us in congratulating those who are bound for college this fall, and encouraging those who are returning to Freedom University to continue their liberatory education! See More
